The Social Hub Florence Belfiore
Florence, ItalyYou know what caught me off guard about The Social Hub Florence Belfiore? It’s actually not trying to be a traditional Florentine hotel at all – and honestly, that’s exactly what makes it work. Walking up to this place on Viale Belfiore, you’re not getting ornate Renaissance facades or marble lobbies. Instead, it feels more like that cool co-working space your creative friend would hang out in, except you can actually sleep there.
The location is sort of perfect in an unexpected way. I mean, you’re in Santa Maria Novella, which sounds super central and touristy, but this particular stretch of Viale Belfiore has this nice residential vibe going on. It’s like a 15-minute walk to the Duomo (I timed it because I’m that person), but you’re far enough away that you’re not dealing with the constant stream of tour groups outside your window. There’s this great little alimentari just down the street where the owner definitely remembered my terrible Italian by day three, and the tram stop is right there if you want to explore beyond the historic center without wearing out your feet on cobblestones.
The whole “Social Hub” concept actually delivers on what it promises, which is refreshing. The common areas buzz with this mix of travelers, digital nomads, and locals who just pop in for coffee or to work. I spent way too much time in their lobby area – it’s got these comfortable nooks where you can spread out with your laptop, and the WiFi is legitimately fast (tested it obsessively because I had work to catch up on). The rooms themselves are clean and modern without being sterile, though I’ll be honest, the walls aren’t super thick, so you might hear your neighbors if they’re having a particularly animated phone call. But the beds are comfortable, the shower has proper pressure, and there’s enough space to actually unpack if you’re staying more than a night or two. Check-in was smooth, and the staff genuinely seemed to know the city well – they pointed me toward this incredible little osteria near Santo Spirito that I never would have found otherwise. With an 8.7 rating, it’s clear other people are having similar experiences, and I get why. It’s not trying to be everything to everyone, but what it does – creating this blend of comfort, community, and genuine local access – it does really well.

Guest Reviews
What could be improved: I would have liked more ice in the fruit infused water at the lobby.
What could be improved: Nothing
What could be improved: Not in the center of Florence but it's one tram stop away from the central train station. No biggie here.
What could be improved: Aircom needs a bit of a deep cleaning, dust collection and sanitation need to be implemented.
What could be improved: Laundry was tough at times, but was fair
The food was delicious at the cafebar in the loby. Easy streight walk to the central station or the tram infront of the hotel which takes you to the centre in few minutes. Also big thank you for the good hair conditioner and body milk in the bathroom.
What could be improved: They didn't clean our room the next day and I had to ask for clean towels. They gave us of course streight away.
What could be improved: Nothing, honestly. I needed more time to explore … I’ll be back.
What could be improved: Just the check in procedure is a bit counterintuitive
