Celeste’s House
Florence, ItalyFirst Impressions
Walking up to Celeste’s House on Viale Belfiore, you might actually wonder if you’ve got the right address — it feels more like you’re visiting a friend’s elegant Florentine home than checking into typical accommodation. The building has that understated charm you find in this part of Santa Maria Novella, where locals still outnumber tourists on the morning coffee runs. There’s something refreshingly intimate about the whole setup, honestly. You won’t find a marble lobby or uniformed doormen here, but that’s exactly what makes it special.
Location & Neighborhood
The Santa Maria Novella area is one of those Florence neighborhoods that just works — you’re close enough to everything that matters but far enough from the crowds that swarm around the Duomo. I mean, you can walk to the train station in about ten minutes, which is incredibly handy if you’re doing day trips to other Tuscan towns. The real gem, though, is how you’re positioned near some of Florence’s best local spots. There’s this little alimentari around the corner where you can grab fresh bread and prosciutto, and honestly, the morning walk to get coffee feels like you’re living in the city rather than just visiting it.
The Space
What strikes you about Celeste’s House is how thoughtfully everything’s been arranged — it’s clear someone actually cares about the details here. The rooms have that lived-in elegance that’s hard to fake, with original features that remind you you’re in a centuries-old Florentine building. You know what I appreciated most? The way natural light fills the spaces throughout the day. The furnishings feel authentic rather than hotel-generic, and there’s enough space to actually unpack and settle in properly. It’s the kind of place where you find yourself lingering over morning coffee instead of rushing out to sightsee.
Why Couples Love It
There’s definitely something romantic about staying at Celeste’s House — maybe it’s the intimate scale or the way evening light filters through those tall windows. Couples seem to gravitate toward places like this because it feels private and special without being stuffy or overly formal. The neighborhood itself lends to romantic evening strolls, especially when you wander toward the Arno as the sun sets. You’re not dealing with tour groups in the hallways or fighting for space at a crowded hotel bar. Instead, you can duck into one of the nearby wine bars or find a quiet osteria for dinner, then come back to what genuinely feels like your own little corner of Florence.
Why Guests Keep Coming Back
The 9.5 rating honestly doesn’t surprise me — Celeste’s House delivers on that increasingly rare promise of feeling like a local rather than a tourist. It’s the kind of place where small touches make a big difference, where someone’s clearly thought about what travelers actually want versus what they think they want. You’ll find yourself recommending it to friends not because it’s the fanciest place you’ve stayed, but because it just feels right for Florence. The location alone would be enough to bring people back, but it’s really the overall experience that sticks with you long after you’ve left.
Apartments in Tuscany suit slow travelers with stone fireplaces, countryside terraces, and farmhouse kitchens.

Guest Reviews
The facilities, the location and the very spacious apartment
I’d definitely come back again. Very highly recommended
What could be improved: Nothing really!
What could be improved: No problems.
What could be improved: Nothing
What could be improved: The host (Marian) was great. Many thanks Marian!
What could be improved: It was a long walk into the city center but the tram was close. It was also a 10 minute walk to a grocery store.
2. The apartment is with an elevator, clean and good facilities. It has two stories with all bedrooms upstairs. Plenty of room for six of us
3. Easy transportation. Tram T2 is just a few steps away which connects to the train station and Airport
What could be improved: You'd better walk rather than taking public transport as both take 20 minutes to reach most of the main attractions due to the urban structures.
What could be improved: No complaints
