Resort con vista nel Chianti Rufina
Londa, ItalyYou know what struck me first about Resort con vista nel Chianti Rufina? The name actually delivers – I mean, you’re literally looking out over those rolling Chianti hills from pretty much everywhere on the property. It’s tucked away in this tiny hamlet called La Noce, which honestly I’d never heard of before (and I’ve been exploring Tuscany for years), but that’s exactly why it works. You’re about twenty minutes from the main Chianti Classico tourist trail, which means you get all the vineyard views without the tour bus crowds. The drive up Via Caiano is a bit winding – typical for this area – but once you pull into their parking area, there’s this immediate sense of… well, arrival, I guess. Like you’ve found something most people miss.
The whole place feels more like a sophisticated country house than a resort, honestly. The rooms have this perfect balance of rustic Tuscan elements (those thick stone walls actually keep things cool in summer) and modern comfort that doesn’t feel forced or overdone. I stayed there in late September, which is ideal timing if you can swing it – harvest season means the countryside is absolutely alive, but the August heat has broken. You’ll hear church bells from the village drifting up in the morning, and honestly, it’s one of those sounds that makes you remember why you wanted to visit Italy in the first place. The staff genuinely knows the area – not just the obvious wine estates, but the family-run cantinas where locals actually drink. They pointed me toward this little place in Rufina (the town, not just the wine zone) that I never would have found otherwise.
What really sets this place apart is how it connects you to the actual rhythm of Chianti life. You’re not isolated in some resort bubble, but you’re also not dealing with the Greve in Chianti crowds. The nearby towns of Pontassieve and Rufina are working places where real people live – there’s a weekly market in Pontassieve that’s absolutely worth the fifteen-minute drive. The resort’s location means you can easily explore the less touristy eastern part of Chianti, but you’re also perfectly positioned for day trips to Florence (about 45 minutes) when you want that city energy. I mean, a 9.6 rating tells you something, but what it doesn’t tell you is how the place just feels right – like someone who actually lives in Tuscany designed it for people who want to experience it properly, not just photograph it. The evenings are particularly magical; there’s this terrace where you can watch the light change over the vineyards with a glass of local Sangiovese, and it’s one of those moments that makes you understand why people fall in love with this region.

Guest Reviews
What could be improved: Nothing, it was everything we expected.
La dame qui s’occupe de nous est une personne formidable et qui fait tout le nécessaire pour qu’on soit bien et nous la remercions encore pour ce séjour passé et nous reviendrons.
What could be improved: Nothing
Only a few minor things, the rooms are a little on the dark side and could have done with a few more lights/lamps. There were only hand towels in the bathroom, so bring towels with you. And if you have any extra meals on site you will need to pay with cash, so make sure you have Euros.
Francesca has an eye for furnishings that create a cosy homely feeling.
What could be improved: The drive up from the road is long and steep but we soon got used to it
What could be improved: Es gab nichts, was es wirklich zu bemängeln gab. Das Einzige: Küchenausstattung mit Gemüsemessern,Knoblauchpresse und so was fehlte
