You’re about twenty minutes from Borgo San Lorenzo, which means you can hit the morning market for fresh produce and be back for a lazy afternoon by the pool. The staff here – and I mean this – actually seem to enjoy their jobs. Check-in was smooth, they remembered my name throughout the stay, and when I mentioned I was interested in local wineries, they pulled out this hand-drawn map with their personal recommendations. Not the glossy tourist stuff, but places where locals actually go.

The rooms have that lived-in elegance that’s so hard to fake – think exposed beams, tile floors that stay cool even in summer heat, and windows that actually open wide to let in those evening breezes. I stayed in October, and honestly, the temperature was perfect for keeping the windows open at night. You’ll hear roosters in the morning (this is farm country, after all), but it’s charming rather than annoying. The beds are proper comfortable, and the bathrooms have been updated without losing that old-world character. The WiFi works well throughout the property, though honestly, this is the kind of place where you might find yourself checking your phone less often.   Het huis is groot en statig, met meer dan voldoende ruimte om een paar dagen in te vertoeven. Verder een mooie grote tuin met op een enkele plaats prachtig uitzicht op de vallei en de bergen. Ligt op 5 minuten rijden van Borgo San Lorenzo met veel supermarkten om boodschappen te doen en de mogelijkheid om een terrasje te pikken.
