Art Hotel Villa Agape
First Impressions
Walking up to Art Hotel Villa Agape feels like discovering a secret that only locals know about. This four-star boutique property sits tucked away on Via Torre Del Gallo, just far enough from the tourist chaos of central Florence to feel genuinely peaceful. The villa itself — well, it’s one of those converted historic buildings that actually manages to blend old-world charm with modern comfort without trying too hard. You know what I mean? Some places force the “authentic Italian experience,” but this one just lets it happen naturally.
The Perfect Perch
Here’s the thing about the location — couples absolutely love it here, and honestly, I can see why. You’re positioned on a hillside that gives you this elevated perspective of the city, but you’re not stranded up there like some of the more remote villa hotels. The Oltrarno district spreads out below you, and getting into the historic center takes maybe 15 minutes by foot if you don’t mind a pleasant walk. There’s something really satisfying about returning here after a day of museum-hopping and tourist crowds — it feels like coming home to your own little Florentine retreat.
The Room Experience
I have to say, they weren’t kidding about the beds here. After walking around Florence all day (and trust me, you’ll do a lot of walking), sinking into one of their mattresses actually makes you understand why this place gets such high marks for comfort. Each room has this thoughtful mix of contemporary design and subtle artistic touches — nothing overwhelming, just enough character to remind you that you’re staying somewhere special. The bathrooms are modern and well-appointed, and honestly, the attention to detail in things like lighting and storage space shows they’ve really thought about what travelers actually need.
Morning Fuel and Evening Ease
The breakfast spread here is genuinely impressive — they’ve got this buffet setup that covers everything from traditional Italian pastries to American-style options, plus they handle dietary restrictions really well if you need gluten-free choices. What I appreciate is that they don’t just phone it in with the typical hotel continental breakfast; the quality is actually there. And here’s a practical bonus that matters more than you might think — they have free private parking on-site. If you’re planning to explore Tuscany by car (which I’d definitely recommend), this saves you both money and the headache of finding secure parking in Florence.
Why Guests Love It
Look, the 9.3 rating isn’t just numbers on a screen — you feel it when you’re there. The staff genuinely seems to care about making your stay work, and the restaurant consistently delivers meals that guests actually rave about afterward. It’s that sweet spot where you get the intimate feel of a boutique property without sacrificing the amenities and service level you expect from a quality hotel. Plus, there’s something really appealing about staying somewhere that feels like a local discovery rather than just another tourist accommodation. You’ll find yourself wanting to extend your stay, which is always the mark of a place that gets it right.
Tuscany’s apartments welcome families with poolside pergolas, cooking classes, and day trips to Pisa’s leaning icon.

Guest Reviews
and friendly as were all the staff we dealt with whether it was at breakfast or the room cleaning staff.
The gardens were exceptional and a lovely place to relax and walk around. We ate twice at the restaurant at night as it was delicious and varied. The shuttle bus which was an excellent idea was available most of the day to take you closer to the city.

It is located on a hill outside and a very tough walk (we did it once!!!)
All the staff were excellent and plenty of smiles, which makes a stay so enjoyable.
Lovely to sit in the shaded gardens with a book in the afternoon heat.
