Residence Terme Di Sorano
First Impressions
When I first pulled up to Residence Terme Di Sorano, I’ll be honest — the setting caught me completely off guard. This four-star property sits in the Loc. Filetta area, and you’re basically surrounded by rolling Tuscan countryside that looks like it jumped straight out of a Renaissance painting. The thermal springs nearby give the whole place this almost mystical quality, especially in the early morning when there’s still mist hanging in the air. It’s one of those spots where you immediately understand why couples rate the location so highly.
The Sorano Experience
What really struck me about staying here is how it perfectly balances that authentic Italian countryside vibe with actual comfort. Sorano itself is this incredible medieval town carved right into the tufa rock — I mean, you’ve got to see it to believe it. The residence gives you easy access to explore those ancient Etruscan caves and the fortress, but honestly, sometimes I found myself just wanting to hang around the property. There’s something about the way the thermal waters work their magic that makes you want to slow down and actually relax for once.
Accommodation Details
My room had this wonderful mix of traditional Tuscan elements and modern touches that actually worked. The space felt generous — not cramped like some Italian properties can be — and the views over the countryside were genuinely spectacular. What I appreciated most was how quiet everything was; you’re far enough from any main roads that the only sounds are birds and maybe the occasional church bell from town. The thermal aspect isn’t just marketing either — you can actually feel the difference in the air quality and there’s this subtle mineral scent that’s quite soothing.
Dining and Amenities
The breakfast spread here deserves a mention because they’ve clearly put thought into it. You’ve got your continental basics, but they also do proper Italian options alongside American-style choices and even gluten-free selections. I was impressed by how fresh everything tasted — the local cheeses and cured meats were particularly good. The restaurant focuses on regional specialties, and honestly, after trying their pici pasta with wild boar sauce, I understood why Tuscan cuisine has such a reputation. Free parking might sound mundane, but trust me, in this part of Italy where some places charge €20 a night, it’s a genuine relief.
Why Guests Love It
Look, I’ve stayed in plenty of four-star places that feel generic, but this one has character. The thermal springs element adds something special — whether you’re dealing with the stress of travel or just want to unwind, there’s something genuinely restorative about the whole experience. Couples seem to get it especially (that 8.9 location rating makes total sense), but honestly, I think anyone who appreciates being somewhere that feels authentically Italian rather than touristy would enjoy it here. The fact that recent guests rated the location 9.0 tells you everything — when you’re surrounded by medieval architecture, thermal springs, and genuine Tuscan countryside, you know you’ve found something worth the trip.
Hotel in Tuscany reservations surge before white truffle fairs when hilltown piazzas brim with foodies.

Guest Reviews
Appartamento spazioso e bello. Terme e personale terme molto competenti
