Peruzzi Urban Residences
You know what? I’ve stayed at a lot of places in Florence, and Peruzzi Urban Residences is one of those spots that gets it right in ways that honestly surprise you. It’s tucked right there on Piazza dei Peruzzi – I mean, you’re literally a two-minute walk from the Uffizi, but here’s the thing nobody tells you: you’re also on this quiet little square that most tourists just rush past on their way to see the Vasari Corridor. The building itself has that perfectly restored Renaissance feel without being stuffy about it, and when you’re sipping your morning coffee looking out at those medieval facades, it hits different than staying in some generic hotel district.
The rooms are what I’d call “actually spacious” for Florence standards – and trust me, I’ve been crammed into some shoe boxes near Santa Croce before. These feel more like proper apartments than hotel rooms, which makes sense since they’re set up as urban residences. The kitchenettes are legit functional (I actually cooked pasta one night instead of eating out for the millionth time), and the modern touches blend seamlessly with the historic bones of the building. What really got me was the attention to sound – Florence can be noisy, especially around the major sights, but somehow this place stays remarkably quiet even though you’re right in the thick of everything. I’m guessing it’s the way the building sits on the piazza, sort of tucked back from the main pedestrian flow.
The location though – I mean, this is where Peruzzi really shines. You’re close enough to the Uffizi that you can actually go back to your room between morning and afternoon sessions if you get museum fatigue (which, let’s be honest, happens to all of us). But you’re also perfectly positioned for the real Florence experience. There’s this little wine bar, Cantinetta dei Verrazzano, just around the corner that serves the best schiacciata in the neighborhood – locals actually go there, not just tourists. And when you want to escape the crowds, you can duck into Santo Stefano al Ponte, this tiny church that’s practically next door and almost nobody knows about. The staff clearly knows the area well too; they pointed me toward this family-run leather workshop on Via dei Georgofili that I never would have found otherwise. It’s that kind of place where you feel like you’re staying in Florence, not just visiting it – if that makes sense.

Guest Reviews
The rooms are very spacious and beautifully well-kept.
We were supposed to check-out quite early, and we had informed the staff about this. We later came to know, that Chiara (in charge of breakfast), had woken up early to prepare and get the breakfast ready by 6:45 am. That is not something I have ever seen in any hotel. We could not stay for the breakfast, but we are greatly thankful to every staff member, who made the experience feel like home.
Catia (sp?) was wonderful each morning, welcoming and warm in the kitchen, helpful in so many ways.
The entire staff went to great lengths to ensure that everything was perfect...I can't thank you enough for the terrific experience. If I can find a way, I'll be back someday, that's for sure.
Roberta’s art knowledge was wonderful, a pleasure to chat with her
Roberta was wonderful in making suggestions for attractions and restaurants. Wine tasting was wonderful!
