NH Pisa
Pisa, ItalyYou know what? I was honestly a bit skeptical when I first walked up to NH Pisa – I mean, it’s literally right there at Piazza Stazione 2, practically on top of the train station. But that initial “oh no, this is going to be noisy” feeling actually turned into one of those pleasant travel surprises. The building itself has this solid, no-nonsense vibe that somehow works perfectly for Pisa, and once you’re inside, the train noise basically disappears. The lobby’s got that modern European hotel aesthetic – clean lines, decent lighting, staff who actually seem to know what they’re doing without being overly formal about it.
Here’s the thing that really sold me on this place: the location is absolutely unbeatable if you’re doing the whole Pisa thing properly. Sure, everyone talks about hotels being “conveniently located,” but this is different – you can literally walk to the Leaning Tower in about fifteen minutes, and I’m talking a leisurely stroll through some actually charming side streets, not a death march through tourist hell. The rooms are solid 4-star quality without trying too hard – comfortable beds, decent bathrooms, and honestly, the air conditioning worked perfectly when I was there in July (which, let me tell you, is not always a given in Italian hotels). The breakfast situation is pretty standard continental fare, but they do the coffee properly, and there’s this little covered terrace area where you can sit and watch the city wake up, which I found surprisingly peaceful.
What I really appreciated was how the staff seemed to get that most people staying here are either coming or going somewhere else – they’re efficient with check-in, they know the train schedules, and they’ll actually give you real directions instead of just pointing vaguely toward the historic center. The neighborhood itself is sort of an interesting mix – you’ve got the usual train station chaos during the day, but it quiets down at night, and there are some genuinely good local spots within walking distance. I found this little osteria about three blocks away that served the best ribollita I had in Tuscany, and the hotel concierge was the one who told me about it. The 7.7 rating feels about right – it’s not going to blow your mind, but it does everything well, and sometimes that’s exactly what you need when you’re trying to see the sights without dealing with hotel drama.

Guest Reviews
What could be improved: Nothing
What could be improved: Stairs needs to be adjusted, noisy and one loose stair.
What could be improved: It's a nice hotel but could be so much better with a little more care and attention. The lights wouldn't stay on in my room and when I went to reception was told you need to insert two cards into the slot in some rooms - if that's the case they should've issued to cards and explained that at check in. One day I was left a towel with a mark on it in a place that was hard to miss.
What could be improved: No provisions for charging points & tea/coffee/water
What could be improved: No lamps - only bright overhead lights or complete darkness - not a place to relax, just arrive and then sleep.
What could be improved: Maybe there could have been tea and coffee in the room but this is pretty standard in Europe. No real issues.
