Hello Pisa B&B
Pisa, ItalyI’ll be honest – when I first walked up to Hello Pisa B&B on Via Cristoforo Colombo, I wasn’t sure what to expect. The street’s got this mix of residential buildings and small businesses, nothing too fancy, but there’s something genuinely Italian about it that you don’t get in the touristy center. It’s actually perfect positioning if you think about it – you’re close enough to walk to the Leaning Tower (maybe 15 minutes at a leisurely pace), but far enough away that you’re not dealing with the constant stream of tour buses and street vendors.
The B&B itself feels like staying at someone’s well-kept home, which I mean in the best possible way. The owner clearly takes pride in the place – you can tell from little details like the way the breakfast table is set up each morning and how they remember your coffee preferences after day two. The rooms are clean and comfortable, though honestly, the walls aren’t super thick, so if you’re a light sleeper, pack earplugs. But here’s what I really appreciated: the Wi-Fi actually works throughout the building (you’d be surprised how many Italian B&Bs struggle with this), and there’s decent water pressure in the showers. Sometimes it’s the mundane stuff that makes or breaks a stay, you know?
What really won me over was the breakfast situation. None of that continental nonsense with stale pastries – they do proper Italian breakfast with fresh cornetti from the bakery around the corner, good coffee, and the owner’s wife makes this incredible homemade jam that I’m still thinking about months later. Plus, they’re genuinely helpful with local recommendations. Not the usual tourist traps, but actual spots where locals eat and hang out. They pointed me toward this little trattoria on Via Santa Maria that I never would have found otherwise, and it ended up being one of my best meals in Pisa. The location works well for exploring beyond just the famous sites too – there’s a regular bus route that connects to other parts of Tuscany, and parking isn’t the nightmare it is closer to the center. Look, it’s not luxury accommodation, but it’s solid, authentic, and the kind of place where you feel like you’re experiencing real Italian hospitality rather than just checking into another generic hotel room.

What could be improved: Nothing specific
What could be improved: Could do with a bit of shampoo and shower gel in the bathroom. Small gripe.
What could be improved: Breakfast was only basic.
What could be improved: The smoking room opposite.z
What could be improved: One might have some thoughts about the area around the trainstation at night but we never had a problem and enjoyed a nice evening.
Very accommodating hosts, who made sure my check in went smoothly when my connecting flight was several hours late and I arrived late at night.
After a 24 hr trip traveling from the US, I was greeted the next morning with a delicious cappuccino by the host- so thoughtful!
The common area and room were both clean, nicely decorated, and welcoming. Host was kind to allow me to store luggage during day while sightseeing.
Great experience- will stay here again.
What could be improved: Nothing
What could be improved: There isnt really a breakfast, just some packets of "toast", bannanas. Nothing substantial. You would need to get breakfast elsewhere.
