First Impressions

Walking up to Maison Bianca B&B on Viale Belfiore, you immediately get that feeling you’ve stumbled onto something special — it’s tucked away just enough to feel like a local secret, but honestly, the location couldn’t be better. I mean, you’re right in the Santa Maria Novella district, which is basically Florence‘s sweet spot for getting around without feeling like you’re staying in a tourist trap. The building itself has that understated Italian charm that doesn’t scream for attention but draws you in anyway.

Location & Neighborhood

Here’s what I love about this spot — you’re actually in one of Florence’s top-rated areas, and couples seem to get it because they consistently rate the location nearly a 9 out of 10. You can walk to the main train station in about ten minutes, which is clutch if you’re doing day trips to other Tuscan towns. But more importantly, you’re close enough to the Duomo and Uffizi that you can easily walk there, yet far enough from the crowds that you can grab an espresso at a neighborhood bar where locals actually go. The tree-lined Viale Belfiore feels more residential than touristy, which gives you a real sense of what it’s like to live in Florence.

The B&B Experience

What sets Maison Bianca B&B apart is that perfect balance between personal service and giving you space to do your own thing. It’s not a massive hotel where you’re just another room number — the owners actually know their guests and can point you toward that little osteria around the corner that doesn’t have an English menu but serves the best ribollita in the neighborhood. The rooms have character without being fussy, and you know what? Sometimes that’s exactly what you want after a long day of museum-hopping and cobblestone walking.

Breakfast & Morning Routine

The Italian buffet breakfast here actually gets it right — fresh cornetti, good coffee (not the watery stuff some places serve tourists), and local jams that change with the season. I particularly appreciated that they don’t try to cater to every international breakfast preference and instead focus on doing the Italian morning meal well. You’ll find yourself lingering over that second cappuccino, planning your day while watching Florentines head to work outside the window. It’s one of those simple pleasures that makes you feel like you’re experiencing the city rather than just visiting it.

Why Guests Love It

The 8.8 rating really tells the story here — this place consistently delivers on what matters most when you’re exploring Florence. You get that authentic neighborhood feel without sacrificing accessibility to the major sights, and the personal touch of a well-run B&B without any stuffiness. Honestly, it’s the kind of place where you start planning your return visit before you’ve even checked out, especially if you’re traveling as a couple and want somewhere that feels romantic but not overly precious about it.

Very good Clean, great breakfast, great staff, accommodating, they fixed a clogged sink promptly.

What could be improved: Washroom was clean and tidy but across the hall for our room #5. Shower head and toilet seat could be fixed but was not an issue for us. These were minor inconveniences

Perfect Base for Exploring Florence We really liked the great location of the accommodation, which is very close to both the airport and the city center. The staff were very kind and helpful. At the reception, there was a map of the city showing the main landmarks and other important spots, making it much easier for us to get around the city during our stay. Plus, the hotel staff even marked the hotel’s location and some other places on the map beforehand, which was really helpful. Breakfasts were great. Overall, a great place to stay – highly recommended!

What could be improved: There was some mold in the shower, and the toilet seat was a bit loose.

I would have no hesitation in recommending this property. Maison Bianca was very clean and comfortable it was convenient for the main railway station (10 to 15 minutes walk) or 2 minutes from the tram stop. Breakfast was good. The young girl at reception/breakfast was very friendly and helpful and made our stay in Florence more enjoyable by recommending places to visit whilst there.

We loved Mason Bianca and would definitely recommend it. Julia was absolutely awsome, she is so friendly and helpful. 10 out of 10 to Julia. The room was super clean. Breakfast was good, would've just liked savoury croissants and crackers with more cheeses and a little fruit salad.

What could be improved: Nothing! We loved our stay!

Little gem Location: quiet area, just two tram stops from S. Maria Novella train station and close to Fortezza da Basso.
Host: excellent treatment by host Giulia, with lovely morning chat.
Room: we had family room n.5, spacious and comfortable with view on main road.
Good night sleep and minibar available.

What could be improved: Only down side, this room is the only one with external private bathroom, which could be an inconvenience sometimes.

Comfortable stay near station The location is a bit away from the city centre but it's near the train station and easily accessible by tram. There is one tram stop just in front of the building. Room had a good city view from balcony. Breakfast was amazing. Good restaurants nearby. Only drawback was the extremely slow elevator of the building otherwise everything was perfect.
