It’s tucked away on Via di Valle in Lastra a Signa – which, let me tell you, is one of those Tuscan gems that most tourists completely miss because they’re rushing between Florence and Pisa.
The whole place has this lived-in elegance that’s hard to fake. I mean, sure, it’s got that 4-star polish, but there’s something genuinely warm about how the staff remembers your coffee order by day two, and the way the morning light hits the breakfast terrace makes you want to linger over your cappuccino way longer than you planned. The rooms are spacious without being cavernous – actually feels like staying in a well-appointed Italian home rather than a cookie-cutter hotel room. What really got me was the attention to local details: the bathroom tiles are clearly sourced from nearby artisans, and the view from most rooms looks out over actual working vineyards and olive groves, not some manufactured landscape.
Location-wise, you’re about 20 minutes from Florence’s centro storico, but here’s the thing – you’re far enough out that you escape the tourist chaos and actually get to experience how locals live. There’s a fantastic osteria maybe a 10-minute walk away where the owner’s grandmother still makes the pasta, and the Saturday morning market in the main piazza is where you’ll find the best pecorino you’ve ever tasted. The hotel’s 8.8 rating makes complete sense when you realize you’re getting genuine Tuscan hospitality without the Florence price tag or crowds. Less then 15 minutes to end of T1 line where can park for free at 8 am an by 8:30 arrive in Florence stay the whole day and after dinner take the tram back
What could be improved: Missed a teakettle in the kitchen
What could be improved: A couple of minor details, the pillows and the towels need a renewal.
Breakfast was basic continental

What could be improved: Unfortunately with every stay, there a lots of stairs, plan accordingly
What could be improved: It is very close to the motorway - but this wasn’t a problem for me, you do t notice it after a while.
The only this which I didn’t like was that my apartment was that I could hear noise from my neighbouring apartment through the adjoining doors - so it didn’t feel very private. I think there is the possibility of opening up the apartment to make it bigger, but since I was solo, I rented only one bedroom.
What could be improved: It is on a flight path (and motorway) but there is no major or late night disturbance. There is nothing around, for anyone without a car it is not practical. There are steps up to the rooms for anyone with mobility issues, heavy baggage etc. None of these are bad things just things to note. On letting people in the electric gates it would be good to advise them on the intercom at this stage where to park and where to go.
What could be improved: Lots of stairs to climb, but if you're able, it's not a problem.
