Anda e Rianda
Campi Bisenzio, ItalyYou know what struck me first about Anda e Rianda? It’s this beautiful old villa that somehow manages to feel both elegant and completely unpretentious at the same time. I mean, you’re staying in what was clearly once a grand private residence on Via Pistoiese, and the original architecture is still there – high ceilings, original tile work, those shutters that actually keep the summer heat out (trust me on this one). The whole place has this lived-in charm that most renovated properties lose, but somehow they’ve kept it.
The location is honestly perfect if you want to experience Tuscany without the tourist madness. San Donnino is this quiet frazione that locals actually live in – you’ll hear real Italian conversations at the little café down the street, not just tour groups practicing their phrase book Italian. It’s about twenty minutes by car to Florence’s centro storico, but here’s the thing nobody tells you: parking near the hotel is actually manageable, unlike anywhere in Florence proper. The morning sounds are church bells and the occasional Vespa, not honking taxis. I stayed there in late spring and would wake up to the smell of someone’s garden herbs drifting through the window – probably rosemary and lavender from the properties nearby.
What really sets this place apart is how the staff treats you like you’re staying with distant relatives who happen to run a really good hotel. The woman at reception (I think her name was Giulia?) knew exactly which bus to catch for the outlets at The Mall, but also steered me toward this incredible little osteria in Campi Bisenzio that I never would have found otherwise. The breakfast is proper Italian – good coffee, fresh pastries, and they don’t give you weird looks if you want cappuccino after 11 AM like some places do. The rooms themselves are spacious in that old-world way where furniture has room to breathe, and the beds are actually comfortable (not always a given in boutique properties, honestly). The bathrooms are modern but not sterile – nice tiles, good water pressure, and towels that feel substantial.
Here’s something I really appreciated: they seem to attract a mix of business travelers and couples exploring the region, so there’s this nice energy without being too quiet or too chaotic. The rating of 9.4 makes sense when you stay there – it’s not trying to be a luxury resort, but everything just works well. The WiFi is solid if you need to work, the common areas are comfortable for reading, and if you want to explore beyond Florence, you’re perfectly positioned for day trips to Lucca or even over to Siena. I’d definitely go back, especially in autumn when the light gets that golden quality and the crowds thin out a bit.

Guest Reviews
What could be improved: Italian heat. There was an ac unit but it didn't do much. A fan was provided and was the only thing cooling us off.
Free parking, clean and spacious apartment with exceptional cleanliness!
Breakfast was amazing with homemade baked cakes, great coffee!
If you have a car, Marco's apartman is a MUST for staying!
What could be improved: Nothing
What could be improved: The only downside was that the accommodation is a bit far from the city center.
Lovely property, well equipped and runned.
