HOTIDAY Room Collection – Pisa
Pisa, ItalyYou know what caught me off guard about HOTIDAY Room Collection in Pisa? The location on Via Caduti del Lavoro is actually perfect if you want to feel like you’re staying in a real Italian neighborhood instead of some touristy bubble. I mean, it’s still close enough to walk to the Leaning Tower – maybe 15 minutes on foot – but you’re tucked away where locals actually live and work. There’s this great little bakery two blocks down that opens at 6 AM, and honestly, their cornetti are better than anything you’ll find near the main piazza.
The hotel itself has this interesting vibe – it’s definitely aiming for that boutique luxury feel with the 5-star rating, though I’d say it lands more in the “really nice” category than “blow your mind” territory. The rooms are spacious (which is rare in Italian city centers, let me tell you), and they’ve got this modern design that doesn’t try too hard to be trendy. What I really appreciated was how quiet it gets at night – Via Caduti del Lavoro isn’t a main thoroughfare, so you’re not dealing with Vespa engines revving at 2 AM like you would closer to the centro storico. The beds are actually comfortable too, which… well, anyone who’s stayed in European hotels knows that’s not always a given.
Here’s the thing about the 7.4 rating – it makes sense when you dig into the details. The staff is genuinely helpful (they helped me figure out the best train connections to Cinque Terre), and the breakfast is solid without being extraordinary. Sometimes the elevators are a bit slow, and the Wi-Fi can be spotty on the upper floors, but these are minor gripes. What really sells me on this place is how it positions you in Pisa. You’re close enough to hit the main sights easily – the Duomo, the Tower, that whole complex – but you can also wander down to the Arno riverfront in the evening when the light hits those medieval buildings just right. Plus, if you’re planning day trips, the train station is maybe a 10-minute walk, which is incredibly convenient for exploring Tuscany without dealing with rental car headaches. It’s one of those hotels that works because it doesn’t try to be everything to everyone – it’s just a comfortable, well-located base that lets Pisa itself be the star.

Guest Reviews
What could be improved: Bed was quite uncomfortable and due to our room being at the back of the hotel our balcony view was a car park and houses. Breakfast wasn't great, it was okay but struggled to get a coffee (in Italy!)
No remote controls in the room worked and lights didn't all work, for 2 days it didn't matter to us too much. For the price it was good.
And big room, I could see the Pisa tower from my room!
What could be improved: Not very well connected with public transport
What could be improved: Check in process is long, repetitive
They charge for parking
What could be improved: 15 euro / night parking fee . That’s very annoying . The loot lock mechanism was not easy .
What could be improved: Instructions on the back of the door do not make sense. It says to press a grey button to open the door but you don’t need to do this. The information from hotiday we couldn’t see translated to English.
What could be improved: The hotel ranking is 5 star but there is an older part of the complex which we have been accommodated. Although the price for 5 star hotel was fair and lower than market level but we had faced some basic issues like Telephone line was not working and we could’t call the reception, WIFI was not set up for our room. The main issue was a bad smelling inside the bathroom and our guess was drainage issue
What could be improved: Used furniture
What could be improved: Location
What could be improved: Free Wifi didn't work most of the time so we couldn't workj in the evening. Shower didn';t work that great for the quality of hotel it was. Aircon shut down every time you left the room so it was stuffy
What could be improved: Our room had a leak in the ceiling from the A/C
