FuordArno Bed & Breakfast
Florence, ItalyLook, I’ve stayed at my fair share of B&Bs in Florence, and FuordArno is honestly one of those places that gets it right in ways that actually matter. The address might say Lungarno Torrigiani, but what that really means is you’re literally steps from the Arno with those classic Florence views everyone talks about – except you’re on the Oltrarno side, which I mean, is where you want to be anyway if you’re trying to avoid the tourist chaos.
The thing about this place is that it feels like someone’s elegant home rather than a hotel trying too hard to be boutique-y. The owners clearly know Florence inside and out, and they’ll point you toward that little osteria around the corner that doesn’t have a sign (seriously, it’s unmarked but the ragu is incredible). What really struck me was how quiet it gets at night – you know how some places on the lungarno can get noisy with late-night foot traffic? Well, this stretch of Torrigiani is residential enough that you’ll actually sleep, but you can still walk to Santo Spirito in like five minutes. The breakfast setup is proper Italian – none of that continental buffet nonsense – and they do this thing with local honey that I’m still thinking about months later.
Honestly, the 9.6 rating makes sense once you spend time there. It’s not trying to be the fanciest place in Florence, but everything just… works. The rooms have that Florentine character without being museum-stuffy, the shower pressure is actually decent (which, if you’ve traveled in Italy, you know is not a given), and parking – well, they’ll sort you out with options nearby, though I’d honestly recommend just flying into Florence and walking everywhere. The owners treat you like you’re staying with knowledgeable friends rather than customers, which sounds cheesy but really does make a difference when you’re trying to figure out whether the Uffizi is worth the crowds on a Tuesday morning in October (spoiler: it’s not, go Thursday afternoon instead). You’re also perfectly positioned to explore the artisan workshops across the river without dealing with the Via de’ Tornabuoni crowds every time you want to grab coffee.

Guest Reviews
What could be improved: Stairs to walk up to 3th floor
Lovely breakfast, lovely rooms, lovely service.
What could be improved: The stairs up to the bed and breakfast.
What could be improved: The mattress in our room (New York) was fairly hard, but that is just a personal preference.
Our room was huge and very comfortable. A/C worked very well, which is essential, since temperatures were around 37-38C in Florence during our stay. Bed was fine and the bathroom is a bit small compared to the size of the room, but it was all good.
The hosts were super friendly and made us feel very comfortable. They even served breakfast in our room, which was amazing. Everything was fresh and very tasty.
Location is fantastic and you can walk just about anywhere in Florence. Wifi also worked flawlessly.
What could be improved: It was not an issue for us, but as it's been highlighted in other reviews, they don't have lift and the hotel is on the 3rd floor of the building, so you always have to take stairs.
What could be improved: Nothing this accommodation is worthy of a 6* rating
