Casa Mirko – B & B con stazione ricarica auto elettriche parcheggio privato auto moto biciclette
Arezzo, ItalyYou know what? I’ve stayed at a lot of B&Bs across Tuscany, but Casa Mirko actually gets it right in ways that surprised me. First off, Mirko himself is one of those hosts who somehow manages to be incredibly helpful without hovering – he’ll point you toward the best morning pastries at the bakery on Via Cavour (honestly, skip the hotel breakfast and walk the five minutes, trust me on this), but he’s not going to corner you with endless recommendations unless you ask. The place sits on Via Masaccio, which I mean, you’re basically in residential Arezzo here, so it’s quiet at night but you can still walk to the centro storico in about fifteen minutes. What really sold me though was pulling up and seeing they actually have proper parking – and I’m talking about a private courtyard where you’re not playing Tetris with your rental car every morning.
The electric car charging station thing isn’t just marketing fluff either; they’ve got Tesla-compatible chargers that actually work, which… well, if you’ve tried to charge an EV anywhere in rural Italy, you’ll understand why this matters. But honestly, even if you’re driving a regular car, having that secure parking in Arezzo is worth its weight in gold. The rooms themselves have this sort of understated elegance – think restored Tuscan house but without all the fake rustic nonsense you see everywhere. My room had these beautiful old terracotta floors that were probably original, and the bathroom was completely modern (thank god, because nobody wants to deal with temperamental Italian plumbing on vacation). One thing that really impressed me was how quiet it was at night – Via Masaccio doesn’t get much traffic, and the windows are actually decent quality, so you’re not getting woken up by delivery trucks at 6 AM like you would staying near the train station.
What really makes this place special though is that it feels like staying at someone’s actual home rather than a generic hotel. Mirko knows the area inside and out – he steered me away from the tourist traps around Piazza Grande and toward this incredible family-run osteria about ten minutes out of town where I had the best pici cacio e pepe of my entire trip. The 9.7 rating isn’t inflated; it’s just that rare combination of excellent location, genuine hospitality, and practical amenities that actually work. Plus, if you’re planning to explore beyond Arezzo (and you should – Cortona’s only thirty minutes away), having that reliable parking and charging setup makes it an ideal base. I mean, finding a place in Tuscany that nails both the authentic experience and the modern conveniences you actually need? That’s not as common as you’d think.

Guest Reviews
Walter, the host, really goes the extra mile. There’s complimentary water, coffee, and even seasonal fruits available at the main entrance. All the rooms are on the first floor, and ours was spotless and well-equipped with air conditioning, towels, toiletries, an iron, a sewing kit, and a good-sized TV.
Breakfast was a lovely surprise – fresh coffee and a classic cornetto to start the day, plus a platter with local meats, lardo, and even a mini pizza topped with homegrown cherry tomatoes and basil. Everything was prepared with care.
Walter is incredibly polite, helpful, and detail-oriented – he even provides an umbrella in each room! We weren’t prepared for a light rain shower, but thankfully, he had us covered – literally! It's small touches like this that really make a difference. Overall, a fantastic stay!
What could be improved: N/A
What could be improved: Nothing , as this is a B&B that is truly exceptional
What could be improved: everything was good.
This stay really extended my expectations for others, I didn’t know things can get this good.
