Allegra Toscana – Affittacamere Guest house Arezzo
Arezzo, ItalyYou know what struck me first about Allegra Toscana? The location is absolutely perfect – and I mean that in the most practical way possible. Right on Corso Italia, which is basically Arezzo’s main pedestrian street, but somehow the rooms don’t get the street noise you’d expect. I was honestly surprised by how quiet it was at night, especially since you’re literally in the heart of everything.
The guest house itself has this lovely authentic Tuscan feel without being overly touristy about it. The owner clearly put thought into the details – the rooms have these beautiful terracotta floors and exposed beams that actually feel original, not like someone slapped them up for Instagram. My room was spotless and well-appointed, though I’ll be honest, the bathroom was a bit compact (pretty standard for historic Italian buildings). What I really appreciated was the little touches – good coffee setup, proper lighting for reading, and thank god, reliable wifi. The breakfast spread was simple but genuinely good – local pastries, decent coffee, and they source from nearby suppliers which you can actually taste.
Being right on Corso Italia means you’re maybe a two-minute walk from the Piazza Grande, where they film that Roberto Benigni movie and hold the monthly antique market. But here’s the thing locals know – if you’re here during the Giostra del Saracino in June or September, book way ahead because the whole town goes absolutely crazy (in the best way). The train station is about a 15-minute walk, which sounds like nothing until you’re dragging luggage uphill, so maybe grab a taxi if you’re loaded down. Parking can be tricky around here – there’s a decent-sized lot about five minutes away, but honestly, once you’re settled in, you won’t need a car. Everything worth seeing in Arezzo is walkable, and the good restaurants are all within a few blocks. I’d definitely stay here again – it’s that sweet spot of feeling authentically local while still having everything you actually need as a traveler.

Guest Reviews
What could be improved: The elevator in the building. Way too fast!
What could be improved: I wish there was some hot water. Water was freezing cold.
What could be improved: Nothing
Get easy communication.
What could be improved: nothing
What could be improved: If the information about our room being on the 4th floor of a building that had no elevator was in the description I missed it… that is really VERY important information to have…. It needs to be in the notes so people know before they book!!
What could be improved: The big climb up the stairs. (I am elderly.) I arrived late and the stairs were very dark and I could not find any light switches
What could be improved: Slight confusion over precisely where to check in, but soon solved with a phone call.
