Casa del Lecceto
Campiglia Marittima, ItalyYou know what? I wasn’t expecting much when I first pulled up to Casa del Lecceto – honestly, the address on Via del Lecceto just looked like another countryside hotel from the outside. But this place actually surprised me in the best way possible. It’s tucked into this gorgeous hillside spot in Campiglia Marittima, and I mean, once you’re settled in, you realize why it’s got that solid 9 rating. The building itself has this authentic Tuscan feel without being too precious about it, if that makes sense. Walking into the lobby, there’s this warm terracotta flooring and these heavy wooden beams overhead that feel genuinely old – not like some chain hotel trying to fake Italian charm.
The rooms are honestly where this place shines. Mine had these thick stone walls that kept everything cool during the day (crucial in summer, trust me), and the beds are actually comfortable, which isn’t always a given in these historic properties. What I loved most was stepping out onto the terrace in the morning – you’re looking out over olive groves and vineyards that stretch toward the coast, and on clear days you can actually catch glimpses of the Mediterranean. The staff here really knows their stuff too; they pointed me toward this little family-run osteria about ten minutes down the road that I never would’ve found otherwise. Parking’s easy, which is honestly a relief when you’re navigating these winding Tuscan roads with a rental car.
Here’s the thing though – Campiglia Marittima isn’t exactly a tourist hotspot, and that’s actually what makes staying here so special. You’re about twenty minutes from the coast if you want to hit the beaches near Piombino, but you’re also perfectly positioned for exploring the metal hills (Colline Metallifere) that most tourists skip entirely. The hotel staff actually helped me plan this amazing day trip to the old mining areas – something I definitely wouldn’t have thought to do on my own. Evenings at Casa del Lecceto are pretty quiet, which some people might find boring, but I found it perfect for unwinding with a glass of local wine on the terrace. The restaurant serves solid regional food, nothing fancy but done right, and they source a lot of ingredients from nearby farms. If you’re looking for that authentic Tuscan experience without the crowds of San Gimignano or Siena, this place delivers. Just don’t expect nightlife – you’ll want to head toward Livorno or even back to Florence if that’s your scene.

Guest Reviews
What could be improved: Se proprio devo trovare delle piccole pecche , ma lo dico solo per migliorare la struttura che già è top ;
La tenda alla doccia ed il letto non troppo grande e non il massimo della comodità a mio parere .
Casa del Lecceto.... grazie per averci dato l' opportunità di soggiornare nella Vostra struttura.
Ci torneremo.

What could be improved: Niente tutto ok
What could be improved: NULLA
What could be improved: Casa vacanze Casa del Lecceto a Venturina, buona posizione.
The owners are lovely, very welcoming, and helpful. Despite a language barrier, we managed to communicate well.
The views were magnificent, such a beautiful, peaceful, and relaxing place.
A wonderful fresh breeze in the evenings meant we could sleep well without ac and enjoy the fresh air. There was ac available in the loft room where our children had the choice of 4 beds.
The pool was a good size and a welcome refreshment in the heat during the day
There is plenty of space to park securely.
The villa is a 5 minute drive to a little town with supermarkets and restaurants.
San Vincenzo is not far by car, and we easily visited the town for dinner.
What could be improved: It would have been nice to have a few more amenities in the kitchen, kettle, sharper knives, salt and pepper, etc, but we still managed to cook with what was available.
What could be improved: No complaints amazing stay with breathtaking views and value for money
