Boutique Hotel Poggio ai Santi – Adults Only
San Vincenzo, ItalyYou know what caught me off guard about Poggio ai Santi? It’s actually tucked away on this winding road called Strada San Bartolo, and honestly, I almost missed the turn the first time – but that’s exactly what makes it special. The moment you pull up (and yes, parking is right there, no stress), you realize this isn’t just another coastal hotel trying to capitalize on the Tuscan coast hype. This place has that genuine boutique feel where someone clearly put thought into every corner, and I mean that in the best way possible.
The adults-only policy might seem limiting at first, but trust me, it transforms the entire vibe. There’s this relaxed sophistication that you just don’t get at family resorts – people are reading actual books by the pool, conversations happen in normal voices, and you can actually hear the cicadas in the evening. The rooms have this understated elegance that feels more like staying at a well-traveled friend’s place than a hotel. Everything’s been restored with care – original terracotta floors, modern bathrooms that actually work properly, and these windows that frame the Tuscan landscape like living paintings. I particularly loved how they’ve managed to keep the historic character while adding touches like proper air conditioning and WiFi that doesn’t cut out every five minutes.
What really sets this place apart is how it sits in the landscape. San Vincenzo itself is about a 10-minute drive down the hill – close enough that you can easily hit the beach or grab dinner in town, but far enough that you feel like you’re in actual Tuscany, not just another beach resort. The staff knows their stuff too; they’ll point you toward the good local spots (there’s this family-run osteria about 15 minutes away that doesn’t even have a sign) and can arrange things without making you feel like you’re being upsold. Breakfast is served on this terrace where you can see both the hills and glimpses of the sea, and they use local ingredients that actually taste like something – the tomatoes alone are worth getting up for. The pool area manages to feel both elegant and relaxed, with enough space that you’re not fighting for chairs even during peak season. Honestly, with a 9.5 rating, I expected it to be good, but this place delivers on that promise without any of the pretension you sometimes get at highly-rated boutique hotels.

wonderful staff , two great restaurants options and as you expect in Tuscany , amazing views
i would strongly recommend this hotel
What could be improved: No English news channel
What could be improved: Nothing
What could be improved: The hotel should look into more food options throughout the day.
The people, the place. So special
We only left because it started raining in April and just wouldn’t stop.
Francesca, the owner, is a warm presence around the site, always checking on guests, chatting with them with a charming sincerity.
The staff is warm and competent and always helpful.
The cabin room we stayed overlooked the sea and rolling green hills, absolutely stunning breathtaking view.
What could be improved: The dinner restaurant left a little to be desired.
The dishes were hit and miss and we felt it was a bit overrated. But it in no way bad enough to make us mind our stay.
The breakfast is simple and for us was just to our liking. I just wish there were more beef options, sausages etc.
we have a good time
