B&B Maesta’ Di Cudino
First Impressions
When I first pulled up to B&B Maesta’ Di Cudino on Via Molin Bianco, I’ll be honest — I wasn’t expecting much from the unassuming street. But you know what? Sometimes the best places hide in plain sight. This four-star bed and breakfast sits quietly in a residential area of Arezzo, and there’s something immediately welcoming about the way it’s tucked into the neighborhood. The fact that there’s parking right on site was already a win in my book — anyone who’s tried to navigate Italian city centers with a rental car knows exactly what I mean.
The Heart of Arezzo
Here’s the thing about this location that really surprised me: you’re actually perfectly positioned to explore Arezzo without being stuck in the tourist chaos. I could walk to the historic center in about fifteen minutes, which meant I got to see how locals really live on my way to the main sights. The Piazza Grande and the stunning Basilica of San Francesco are close enough that you’ll find yourself popping back for afternoon breaks, but far enough that you can escape the crowds when you need to. Couples seem to get this balance — they’ve rated the location a solid 9.0, and I can see why.
Sleep Like You Mean It
I’m pretty picky about beds when I travel, and honestly, this place delivered in ways I wasn’t expecting from a B&B. The room I stayed in had this perfect combination of traditional Italian charm and modern comfort — think exposed beams but with proper air conditioning. The bed itself? Well, let’s just say I understood why other guests rave about the sleep quality here. There’s something about Italian linens that just hits different, and whatever they’re doing with their mattresses, more places should take notes.
Morning Rituals
Breakfast here isn’t just fuel for sightseeing — it’s actually part of the experience. The hosts clearly take pride in what they’re serving, and you can taste the difference in everything from the local honey to the perfectly flaky cornetti. I found myself lingering over coffee longer than usual, partly because the atmosphere was so relaxed, but mostly because rushing through a proper Italian breakfast just feels wrong. The dining area has this lived-in elegance that makes you feel like you’re visiting family rather than staying at a commercial property.
Why Guests Love It
With a 9.1 rating, this place is clearly doing something right, and after staying here, I get it. It’s not trying to be the fanciest option in Arezzo — instead, it’s mastering the art of being genuinely comfortable and thoughtfully run. The hosts know their city inside and out, so you’ll get recommendations that actually matter, not just the obvious tourist spots. Plus, there’s something refreshing about a place that focuses on the fundamentals: great sleep, good food, and a location that works for real travelers, not just Instagram shots.
