The place sits in località Giardino (which, let me tell you, lives up to its name), and from the moment you step out of your car, you can smell that mix of cypress and lavender that just screams authentic Tuscan countryside.

The owners – and I mean this in the best way – actually know what they’re doing. Check-in was refreshingly personal; none of that sterile hotel lobby nonsense. They walked me through the property like I was a visiting relative, pointing out the best spots to catch sunset (spoiler: it’s from the little stone terrace near the olive grove) and casually mentioning which morning the local market happens in Sansepolcro. Speaking of which, the town center is maybe a fifteen-minute drive when you’re not stuck behind a tractor – which, honestly, happened twice during my stay, but somehow it just added to the charm. The rooms themselves have that perfect balance of rustic character and modern comfort that most places completely mess up. I’m talking original stone walls that actually regulate temperature naturally, but also really good Wi-Fi and a shower with proper water pressure.

What really got me, though, was how quiet it gets at night. Not that eerie, unsettling quiet you sometimes get in remote places, but more like… well, like the countryside is just settling in for the evening. You’ll hear the occasional owl, maybe some rustling in the gardens, but mostly it’s just this incredible silence that makes you realize how much noise you live with normally. The breakfast – which they serve on the terrace when weather permits – uses ingredients from their own land, and I mean that literally. The woman who runs the place pointed out the chickens that laid my eggs, which sounds almost too precious to be real, but somehow it worked. The whole experience has this 9.7 rating on most booking sites, and honestly? I get it. It’s not trying to be a luxury resort – it’s just genuinely excellent at being what it is: a working farm that happens to be an incredible place to stay. Plus, parking is right there (no hunting for spots), and if you’re planning to explore the area, you’re perfectly positioned between Sansepolcro’s historic center and some of the smaller hill towns that most tourists never find.
