Casa Vacanze Villa Maria
First Impressions
You know what hits you first when you pull up to Casa Vacanze Villa Maria? It’s not just another vacation rental — this place has genuine character. Perched on Colle San Lorenzo in the medieval town of Anghiari, this four-star property feels like you’ve stumbled onto something special that locals have been quietly keeping to themselves. The fact that you can actually park right on-site is honestly a godsend when you’re navigating these narrow Tuscan hill town streets with luggage.
The Anghiari Advantage
I mean, most people rush straight to Siena or Florence, but Anghiari? This is where you get that authentic Tuscan experience without fighting crowds for a decent photo. The villa sits perfectly positioned to explore this UNESCO-recognized borgo — you’re walking distance from the historic center where locals still gather in the evening piazzas. What really struck me is how the recent guests have rated the location at 9.3 out of 10, and honestly, once you see those rolling valley views from the property, you’ll understand why couples keep coming back here.
Your Home Base
The accommodations here strike that perfect balance between rustic charm and modern comfort. Each room feels thoughtfully designed rather than cookie-cutter corporate, with those thick stone walls that keep things naturally cool even during summer heat. You’ll find yourself actually wanting to spend time in your space rather than just crashing there between sightseeing marathons. The whole setup works especially well for couples — there’s something about the intimate scale and peaceful setting that just makes sense for romantic getaways.
Beyond the Basics
What I appreciate most is how Villa Maria doesn’t try to be everything to everyone. Instead of cramming in a bunch of amenities you won’t use, they focus on getting the essentials right. That free private parking I mentioned? It’s actually a huge deal when you’re exploring this region by car, which is really the best way to discover hidden gems like the nearby Caprese Michelangelo or the antique markets in Arezzo. The staff genuinely knows the area and can point you toward experiences that guidebooks miss entirely.
Why Guests Love It
Look, with an 8.9 overall rating, Casa Vacanze Villa Maria clearly does something right. It’s that rare place where the location, comfort, and authentic atmosphere actually align. You’re not paying for flashy extras you don’t need — you’re investing in a genuine Tuscan experience in one of Italy’s most underrated medieval towns. The fact that couples consistently rate it so highly tells you everything about the romantic, peaceful vibe this place cultivates. Plus, when you can park easily and walk to dinner in a 13th-century piazza, well, that’s exactly the kind of Italian vacation memory that sticks with you long after you’re back home.

Guest Reviews
We weren’t sure how it would go without any air conditioning in the summer heat, but we were pleasantly surprised that the apartment didn’t get too hot and it was totally fine with the fans provided.
The pool was a good size and overlooking stunning views. It was never too busy which was nice. Our two children had a lot of fun swimming, using the play area and using various toys/games provided.
