First Impressions

Walking up Via San Zanobi, you might almost miss Wine Apartments Florence Barolo — it’s tucked into this lovely residential street that feels authentically Florentine rather than touristy. The building has that classic Italian charm, and honestly, the wine theme isn’t just a gimmick here. You can tell from the moment you step inside that someone put real thought into creating something special. The four-star rating feels spot-on — it’s polished without being stuffy, comfortable without trying too hard to impress.

Location & Getting Around

Here’s what I love about this spot in Florence — you’re actually in a neighborhood where locals live and work, not just a tourist bubble. The San Lorenzo market is literally a five-minute walk away, and you know what? That’s where you’ll find the best leather goods anyway, not in the overpriced shops near the Duomo. Speaking of which, you can walk to the cathedral in about ten minutes, but more importantly, you’re close to some fantastic trattorias that most visitors never discover. The couples who stay here seem to get it — there’s something romantic about wandering these quieter streets in the evening.

The Apartment Experience

Each apartment here feels like staying in a friend’s well-appointed place rather than a hotel room. The wine theme runs through the decor in subtle ways — think elegant touches rather than cheesy grape motifs everywhere. What really impressed me was the attention to detail in the kitchen setup. You’ve got proper equipment if you want to cook (and you should, with the San Lorenzo market so close), but you’re not stuck with the usual tiny hotel kitchenette that’s more frustrating than helpful. The spaces feel genuinely livable, which makes a difference when you’re staying more than just a night or two.

Practical Considerations

Let me be honest about a couple things — parking in this part of Florence is what you’d expect in any historic European city center, which is to say challenging. But that’s actually fine because you really don’t want a car here anyway. The neighborhood is perfectly walkable, and if you need to get somewhere further out, the bus connections are solid. The staff knows the area well and can point you toward the less obvious gems. I mean, they steered me toward this little enoteca around the corner that I never would have found on my own.

Why Guests Love It

What sets this place apart is how it balances being in the thick of things without feeling overwhelmed by crowds. You’re close enough to hit all the major sights easily, but you come home to a street that actually quiets down in the evening. The wine theme isn’t just decoration — they really know their stuff and can recommend bottles that pair perfectly with whatever you’re planning for dinner. For couples especially, there’s something appealing about having your own space to retreat to after a day of museum-hopping and wandering. It’s Florence, but it’s also genuinely comfortable — and honestly, that combination is harder to find than you might think.

The place was very spacious for a group of five. It was also very clean and tidy. Air conditioning worked as advertised in all bedrooms. Kitchen and bath were well equipped with everything you need. The location was great, just a few minutes by foot of main landmarks. The host was helpful and accommodating. Highly recommended.

The place looks exactly like in the photos. Very clean, comfy and nice decorated. The kitchen is well equipped (if you plan to cook something), we just enjoyed our coffee, a (some) prosseco(s) and a quick breakfast. The bottle of wine we found when we arrived was a lovely surprise! We were 6, the apartment is made for a maximum 7; for us it was perfect. It was a great quality - price offer, great location. We had a great time!

- Aprox. 15 min by walk from the Train Station, same for the city centre. By walk I mean... slowly, not in a hurry. So it's not a problem.
- Very close to extraordinary restaurants (eg: Trattoria ZaZa, Antica Trattoria Da Tito)
- Easy check-in, following the instructions via e-mail.
- Communication via WhatsApp, very kind and helpful, answering very quickly.
*Unfortunately I didn't see the Check Out e-mail, and we didn't take the garbage out, we're very sorry! So when you check-out, make sure you do this too.

We 100% recommend this place! Especially if you travel with your group of friends and you wanna feel safe, comfortable and have lots of fun.

Location very quiet, close to station. Very clean and comfortable apt with the bonus of two bathrooms. Perfect for a family of four. Added bonus of extra bed in living space provided flexibility.

We had No breakfast on our booking. It is easy to have a breakfast in any given location around the property. Location is nice. Close to the Train station . There is a grocery shop nearby. For tourist walks it is also very convenient. Cleanless is spotless. Bathroom amenities, ACs, WiFi, Kettle, Fridge - all in well maintained operating condition.
