The air conditioning works properly, thank god, because Florence in summer is no joke.

When I asked about avoiding the crowds at the Uffizi, the woman at the front desk gave me this incredibly detailed strategy involving specific times and alternative routes that you’d never find in a guidebook. The breakfast setup is simple but thoughtful – proper Italian coffee, fresh pastries from somewhere local (not those sad hotel croissants), and they set everything up in this small courtyard garden that catches the morning light just right. Sure, it’s not a sprawling buffet, but it feels authentic in a way that actually matters. The whole place has this relaxed confidence that comes from knowing it doesn’t need to oversell itself – it’s just a really solid place to stay in one of the best neighborhoods in Florence, run by people who care about getting the details right.
