Villetta Tina
Rosignano Marittimo, ItalyLook, I’ve stayed at a lot of places along the Tuscan coast, and Villetta Tina is one of those finds that makes you feel like you actually know what you’re doing when you travel. It’s tucked away on Via Lombardia in Vada – honestly, you’ll probably drive past it the first time because it doesn’t scream “HOTEL” at you like those massive resort chains. But that’s exactly what makes it special.
The thing about Vada is that it’s not trying to be Cinque Terre or Florence… it’s just this genuine coastal town where Italian families come for summer holidays, and Villetta Tina fits right into that vibe. When I walked in, there was this immediate sense that the staff actually cared about the place – you know how sometimes you can tell within five minutes whether a hotel is run by people who give a damn? The woman at check-in knew the bus schedule to Livorno off the top of her head and drew me a little map showing where to find the best gelato (it’s about a ten-minute walk toward the water, past that little pharmacy with the green cross). The rooms are what I’d call thoughtfully comfortable – not fancy in a way that makes you afraid to touch anything, but clean and well-maintained with those little touches that show attention to detail. The beds are actually firm enough to sleep on without waking up feeling like you wrestled with a marshmallow all night, which honestly is rarer than it should be in Italian hotels.
What really won me over, though, was the location and how the place works with it. You’re close enough to the beach that you can hear the waves if you open your window at night – not the traffic noise that dominates so many coastal hotels, but actual ocean sounds. During the day, there’s this gentle bustle from the street below, but it quiets down beautifully in the evenings. The staff recommended this little trattoria maybe five minutes away where they definitely don’t speak English but the pasta alle vongole was absolutely perfect. And here’s something practical – parking isn’t the nightmare it can be in other coastal towns. There’s space, and you don’t need to perform automotive gymnastics to get your rental car situated. I mean, the 8.5 rating makes sense when you add up all these small things that just… work. It’s not flashy, but it’s the kind of place where you can settle in for a few days and actually relax instead of constantly managing logistics. If you’re looking for a base to explore this part of Tuscany without the tourist circus, Villetta Tina gets it right.

Guest Reviews
What could be improved: We missed the microwave from the apartment. On the booking website it's not clearly written that it's better if you reserve the days you want to go to the beach before your arrival (so it's easier for both the staff and the guests). We was a bit dissapointed that the apartment can only accept one dog in one apartment. There is no regular cleaning, if something is finished you have to ask for it. Other than that we loved the apartment and everything else was great.
Air conditioner in every room.
What could be improved: Loud music every night from the funfair nearby.
Very loud karaoke from bar in front of the window, at Saturday night till 1am.
Only two washing machines for all apartments, so they were always busy.
What could be improved: Location near amusement park with very loud music till night.
What could be improved: Swimming pool is in another location. Check in from 17:00 to 19:00, but swimming pool is open until 19:00, so don’t expect to use it properly. Bad news if you’re travelling with your kids.
The beach is near - about 15 mins.
What could be improved: The floor of the apartment was very dirty, we had black feet after 30 mins of our stay. But the personal fixed it quickly after our complain.
There was very dirty fireplace which we should use so we decided not to use it.
Swimming pool is in another part of villa ( approximately 5 min walk)
Big parking with lot of places.
What could be improved: WiFi worked poorly in apartment, only on the balcony it worked well.
Lack of tea cups ( just small cups).
To the sea 10 minutes to the various beaches (both paid and free). If the weather is uncomfortable - pool. At the same time sun beds by the pool was enough for everyone, and the staff was polite and tried to help in everything.
What could be improved: - none so far
