Toscana Verde
Laterina, ItalyFirst Impressions
Toscana Verde sits quietly in the hills near Laterina, and honestly, you might drive right past it if you’re not paying attention — which is actually part of its charm. This isn’t some flashy resort trying to grab your attention from the roadside. Instead, it’s tucked into the Tuscan countryside where couples come to disconnect from everything else. The moment you pull up, there’s this immediate sense that you’ve found something genuine, not manufactured for tourists.
The Tuscan Setting
What strikes you about this place is how it feels like you’re staying at someone’s country home rather than a commercial hotel. The property sprawls across rolling green hills — hence the name Toscana Verde — and you can actually see why couples rate this spot so highly for romantic getaways. Laterina itself is one of those blink-and-you’ll-miss-it Tuscan towns, but that’s exactly the point. You’re close enough to Arezzo for day trips (about 20 minutes by car), yet far enough away that evenings are filled with nothing but crickets and wine. The free private parking is a godsend too, since you’ll definitely want a car to explore the surrounding vineyards and hilltop villages.
Accommodations That Feel Like Home
The rooms here aren’t trying to impress you with over-the-top design — they’re comfortable in that effortless Italian way. Think exposed beams, terracotta floors, and windows that frame views of olive groves and cypress trees. I mean, you know you’re in Tuscany without anyone having to remind you with cheesy décor. The spaces feel lived-in rather than sterile, which makes sense given the property’s intimate scale. You’ll find yourself leaving the windows open at night just to hear the countryside settling in around you.
Breakfast Worth Waking Up For
Here’s where Toscana Verde really surprised me — the breakfast spread is genuinely impressive for a place this size. They’ve got everything covered: continental basics, proper Italian coffee (obviously), plus vegetarian, vegan, halal, gluten-free, and even Asian options. It’s served buffet-style, which normally makes me skeptical, but they clearly put thought into accommodating different dietary needs without making anyone feel like an afterthought. The local ingredients shine through, especially the fresh bread and regional cheeses that change with the seasons.
Why Guests Love It
What keeps people coming back to Toscana Verde isn’t any single standout feature — it’s how everything works together to create this sense of authentic Tuscan life. Couples especially seem to get it, probably because there’s something romantic about feeling like you’ve discovered a hidden corner of Italy that hasn’t been completely polished for mass tourism. The 7.6 rating reflects exactly what you’d expect: solid, unpretentious hospitality in a setting that delivers on those Tuscan countryside dreams without the inflated prices of more famous destinations. You leave feeling like you actually experienced the region rather than just photographed it.

Guest Reviews
What could be improved: The weather was hot
What could be improved: Limited choices for breakfast. Staff tried to be helpful, but a bit disorganised.
What could be improved: The food was not so good as we expected and some things were broken in the room (window not opening properly, some things in the bathroom)
What could be improved: address not correct and hard to fine by navigation, limited salty choices for breakfast
What could be improved: The bathroom facilities are a bit old, but I understand that frequent renovations are impossible for hotels
What could be improved: nothing
What could be improved: No concerns.
