Terre di GIORGIO Agriturismo Villa la Palazzetta
You know what struck me first about Terre di GIORGIO? It’s not just another agriturismo thrown together for tourists – this place actually feels like someone’s beloved family estate that they’ve decided to share. The Villa la Palazzetta sits right on the Strada Provinciale del Monte Amiata, which sounds fancy but is really just the main road that winds through some of the most gorgeous Tuscan countryside you’ll ever see. I mean, you’re literally in Castiglione d’Orcia, which most people zoom past on their way to more famous spots, but honestly – that’s exactly why this place works so well.
The thing about staying here is that you get this perfect balance of rustic charm without feeling like you’re roughing it. The rooms have that authentic Tuscan stone-and-beam thing going on, but the beds are actually comfortable (trust me, I’ve stayed in places where “authentic” meant “back-breaking”), and the bathrooms are modern enough that you won’t be cursing the plumbing. What really got me was how quiet it gets at night – just the sound of wind through the olive trees and maybe some distant sheep bells. During the day though, you’ll hear the family working the land, which I found oddly comforting rather than disruptive. The whole property smells like rosemary and lavender most of the time, probably because there’s so much of it growing wild around the buildings.
Location-wise, you’re about twenty minutes from Pienza (definitely worth the drive for the pecorino and those postcard views), and if you’re into thermal springs, Bagno Vignoni is practically next door. The family running the place – and it really is a family operation – will point you toward the best local spots, including a little enoteca in town that most guidebooks miss completely. Parking is easy, which matters more than you’d think when you’re navigating these narrow hill town streets with a rental car. The breakfast features a lot of their own produce, and while it’s not a huge spread, everything tastes like it was picked that morning because, well, it probably was. I’d honestly come back just for those fresh figs and the homemade jam – simple stuff, but done right. The 9.1 rating makes total sense once you realize this isn’t trying to be a luxury resort; it’s just a really well-run slice of authentic Tuscan life that happens to have proper Wi-Fi and excellent wine recommendations.

The last day we left superearly in the morning for a long drive and they made us breakfast to go, which suprised us so much, they had put so much love in too it, which bread, cheese and ham from the region, fruits, cakes, drinks. Thank you so much!
Also; i had a business zoom meeting with 20 people and i could follow it outside on the wifi without any problems, great wifi!
We would definitely come again!
The hospitality here is second to none. From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel like we were staying with close friends rather than at a typical accommodation. Highly recommended!
