The name is almost comically long, but honestly, it tells you everything you need to know – this place sits right in the heart of Florence’s historic center, and I mean *right* in it. Walking up Via de’ Martelli, you’re literally a two-minute stroll from the Duomo’s massive doors, which sounds touristy until you realize how perfect it is for beating the crowds. I’d slip out around 7 AM (before the tour groups descended) and have those iconic steps practically to myself.

The building itself has that solid, understated Florentine thing going on – none of the flashy renovation work you see in some boutique places, just well-maintained historical bones with modern touches where they actually matter. The suites are genuinely spacious, which is rare in this part of the city where most hotels cram you into rooms barely bigger than closets. Mine had these tall windows that let in incredible morning light, and the bathroom – well, let’s just say it’s clear they understand that travelers want decent water pressure and space to spread out their stuff. The kitchenette was actually functional too, not just for show, though honestly with all the incredible restaurants within a five-minute walk, I barely used it except for morning coffee.

What I really appreciated was how the staff seemed to get that they’re not running a typical hotel – more like temporary apartments for people who want to live in Florence for a few days rather than just visit it. They didn’t hover or push tours on you, but when I asked about avoiding the crowds at Palazzo Vecchio, the morning desk clerk gave me this insider timing that saved me probably an hour of standing in line. The location means you’re dealing with some street noise, especially during the day when Via de’ Martelli gets busy with foot traffic, but it quiets down surprisingly well in the evenings. And here’s something I didn’t expect – parking is actually manageable if you’re driving, unlike most places in the historic center where you’re basically out of luck. There’s a garage situation they can arrange that doesn’t require selling a kidney. The whole experience felt less like staying in a hotel and more like borrowing a friend’s really well-located apartment, which is exactly what you want when you’re trying to actually experience Florence instead of just checking it off a list.

  Excellent location sightseeing – a few steps from Duomo and close to shops, restaurants etc.
  The suite itself was beautifully decorated and provisioned. The beds were the most comfortable ever. The staff member who greeted us on arrival and departure was friendly and helpful, and kindly allowed us to stow our bags for the afternoon on the day of departure.
  This was our first visit to Florence and the accommodation was also an important aspect to a perfect and memorable first impression! Many thanks.
