Residenzia Del Sogno
Castellina in Chianti, ItalyLook, I’ll be honest β when I first pulled up to Residenzia Del Sogno on that narrow road in Pietrafitta, I thought my GPS had lost its mind. You’re basically in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by those rolling Chianti hills that look like someone painted them just to make postcards. But then you see this place, and it’s like… well, the name means “residence of dreams” and they weren’t kidding around.
The thing about staying here is that you’re getting the real Tuscany experience without all the tourist circus you’d find closer to Siena or Florence. Castellina in Chianti is maybe a ten-minute drive β and honestly, that drive alone is worth it because you’re winding through actual vineyards where real people make actual wine, not just photo ops. The hotel itself sits on this property where you can smell the cypress trees and hear absolutely nothing except maybe some birds and the occasional car way off in the distance. I mean, the silence at night is almost weird if you’re used to city noise. They’ve got this restored farmhouse vibe going on, but it’s done right β you know, where the stone walls and wooden beams feel authentic instead of like someone’s idea of what Tuscany should look like.
What really got me was the attention to detail that you don’t notice until you’ve been there a day or two. The rooms have these thick walls that keep everything cool even in August (trust me on this, August in Tuscany is no joke), and the windows actually open β like, proper shutters that block out light completely. The breakfast setup overlooks the vineyards, and they source a lot of stuff locally, which sounds clichΓ© but you can taste the difference. Plus, the staff actually knows the area β when I asked about hiking trails, the guy at reception didn’t just hand me a brochure, he drew me a little map showing where to park near the old castle ruins and which path has the best views. Parking, by the way, is right there and free, which is more of a relief than you’d think after dealing with Italian city centers. The pool area is where you’ll probably spend your afternoons β it’s positioned so you’re looking out over the valley, and there’s usually a breeze even when it’s hot. That 9.1 rating makes sense when you’re sitting there at sunset with a glass of something local, watching the light change on the hills. It’s the kind of place where you actually slow down, you know? Not because there’s nothing to do, but because rushing around feels sort of ridiculous when you’re surrounded by landscape that’s looked basically the same for centuries.

What could be improved: nothing,.
What could be improved: Cleaning staff need to wash dishes every day
What could be improved: Loved it all.
I really enjoyed staying at Residenzia del Sogno!
Amazing atmosphere, very delicious breakfast, tidy room.
I received very good recommendations for wine tasting, restaurants.
I will definitely come back!
What could be improved: Nothing!
BUT
It might be a little bit annoying for someone who want a silence to listen to the cars/ motorbikes, because the accommodation is next to the road.
What could be improved: -
The pool area is good and the pool clean and a great plus to cool down after exploring the beautiful towns around.
What could be improved: Maybe the grill area needs a little update - but we didn't mind at all as we didn't use this facility.
