I mean, it’s got that four-star polish without the stuffy hotel vibe – honestly, walking up to the entrance, you might almost miss it if you’re not paying attention, which is sort of the point.

The location is brilliant in that subtle way that only really hits you after you’ve been there a day or two. You’re literally a five-minute walk from Porta Pispini (one of the old city gates), which sounds touristy but actually puts you right where locals cut through to avoid the crowds around the Duomo. Via Peruzzi itself is this quiet residential street where you’ll hear more Italian conversations than camera clicks – there’s something really satisfying about that when you’re trying to get a feel for actual Siena life. The rooms have this clean, contemporary thing going on that works surprisingly well against the medieval bones of the building. Not trying to be too rustic or overly modern, just… comfortable, you know?
