Park Hotel Marinetta – Beach & Spa
Marina di Bibbona, ItalyYou know what struck me first about Park Hotel Marinetta? It’s tucked away on Via Dei Cavalleggeri Nord, which honestly sounds way fancier than it is – it’s just this quiet road that runs parallel to the beach in Marina di Bibbona, but that’s exactly what makes it perfect. I mean, you’re literally a two-minute walk from the sand, but you don’t get the chaos that comes with those beachfront places where people are dragging coolers past your window at 6 AM. The hotel itself has that classic Italian coastal vibe – think white walls, terracotta touches, and those shutters that actually work (trust me, you’ll appreciate them during afternoon naps). Check-in was refreshingly smooth, and the staff actually remembered my name by day two, which doesn’t happen at those massive resort chains.
The spa here is legitimately good – not just some afterthought with a few massage tables. They’ve got this thalassotherapy setup that uses seawater treatments, and after spending way too much time researching this stuff, I can tell you it’s the real deal. The pool area gets busy around 11 AM when families start filtering down, but if you’re an early riser like me, you’ll have it mostly to yourself with your espresso. Speaking of which, breakfast is served until 10:30 (not the usual 10 AM cutoff), and they do this thing with fresh ricotta and local honey that’s… well, it’s worth getting up for. The rooms are solid 4-star quality – nothing groundbreaking, but the AC works properly, the shower has actual pressure, and you get a little balcony where you can hear the waves if you really listen. Marina di Bibbona itself is one of those places that feels authentically Tuscan without being overrun by tour buses. There’s a decent restaurant called Da Ugo about a 10-minute walk down the main road, and the local market on Thursday mornings is where you’ll find the best peaches you’ve ever tasted.
Here’s the thing about this place – it’s not trying to be something it’s not. The 8.5 rating makes sense because it delivers exactly what you’d want from a proper Italian beach hotel without any pretense. You’ll pay a bit more than some places in the area, but you’re getting that spa access, the prime location, and honestly, just a more relaxed vibe overall. If you’re coming in July or August, book early because the locals from Florence and Pisa know about this spot, and parking can get tight during peak season (though the hotel has its own lot, which is clutch). It’s the kind of place where you’ll find yourself extending your stay – not because it’s the most luxurious hotel you’ve ever seen, but because it just feels right for this stretch of Tuscan coastline.

Guest Reviews
What could be improved: Rooms need updates. Older furniture. Small showers. Ancient blow dryers
What could be improved: We had a room with facilities for disabled people, but we are not. Not a big problem but the toilet was high and actually uncomfortable!
A special thank you to Alessandra, Soak, and Mateo – your kindness made my birthday extra special. The Grance Restaurant was beautiful, and it was the perfect place to celebrate.
We truly appreciated everything and would definitely love to come back!
What could be improved: Maybe the drinks at the bar by the swimming pool are a bit expensive, but they come with a few nibbles as well. Just outside the hotel village, lots of alternative options for restaurants and bars if you want to stay on budget. Taxi from the hotel to Bolgheri station is very expensive, as they come from Cecina (30€ one way). This has nothing to do with the hotel, but worth knowing in advance.
What could be improved: Room was a little small and air con would not turn on, quite a high price to pay
What could be improved: Everything was amazing
-very friendly staff, we received an upgrade and could have a late check-out
-delicious meat restaurant with very friendly waiters
What could be improved: -the shower was separated to the bathroom and the shower door was leaky so the water overflowed the room
What could be improved: the bed in the second room of the junior suite is a bit "hard" to lie on and the food on the buffet could have been a bit hotter. otherwise nothing "negative" at all!
Room was comfortable and had everything we needed
Fantastic breakfast! Nice bar in the evening
What could be improved: During our stay we had torrential rain one day - it was a shame to have to go outdoors to get to breakfast - there were not enough umbrellas for everyone, even though the staff did all they could
