Numa Florence Felice
Florence, ItalyFirst Impressions
Walking into Numa Florence Felice feels like discovering a well-kept secret in one of Florence’s most charming neighborhoods. The property sits right on Piazza San Felice in Santo Spirito, and honestly, you couldn’t ask for a better spot to experience authentic Florentine life. This isn’t your typical hotel setup — it’s more like having your own stylish apartment in the heart of the city, which I actually prefer when I want to feel less like a tourist and more like a temporary local.
Location & Neighborhood
The Santo Spirito area is where Florence really comes alive, especially in the evenings when locals gather in the piazza for aperitivo. You’re literally steps away from the Basilica of Santo Spirito and the vibrant nightlife that makes this neighborhood so special. What I love most is how you can walk to the Ponte Vecchio in about ten minutes, but you’re staying in a part of the city that still feels genuinely Italian rather than overrun with tour groups. The morning market in the piazza is something you’ll stumble upon naturally — and trust me, the local vendors here are much more relaxed than those near the Duomo.
The Space
The accommodations at Numa Florence Felice are thoughtfully designed with a modern aesthetic that doesn’t try too hard to be trendy. Each unit feels spacious and well-appointed, with everything you actually need for a comfortable stay. I particularly appreciated the attention to detail in the furnishings — nothing felt cheap or temporary. The kitchenette setup is genuinely useful if you want to grab fresh ingredients from the local markets, and the Wi-Fi is reliable enough for those inevitable work calls back home.
Practical Perks
What sets this place apart is how seamlessly everything works. The check-in process is refreshingly straightforward, and the staff genuinely knows the neighborhood — they’ll point you toward the best gelato spot (which isn’t the famous one all the guidebooks mention) and tell you when the local restaurants actually open for dinner. The building itself is quiet despite being right on the piazza, which honestly surprised me given how lively the area gets in the evenings. You get the energy of the neighborhood without sacrificing sleep, which is exactly what you want.
Why Guests Love It
There’s something addictive about staying in a place where you can grab morning coffee at the corner bar like a regular, then spend your day exploring world-class art and architecture. Couples especially seem to gravitate toward this spot — and I get it. The romantic evening strolls along the Arno are just minutes away, but you’re coming home to a neighborhood that feels alive and authentic rather than preserved in tourist amber. It’s that perfect balance of accessibility and local flavor that makes you want to extend your stay by a few extra days.

Guest Reviews
Check-in and check-out were super easy, and the staff was very helpful and responsive via messages. The apartment was spotlessly clean and very convenient — having three bathrooms was a big plus for our group of friends, as it saved us a lot of time getting ready. The beds were really large and comfortable.
The location is excellent — in a lively area with lots of people and activity even at night, which we enjoyed. While it could be a bit noisy in the evenings, it didn't bother us, and the apartment even provided earplugs, which was a thoughtful touch.
We had a wonderful time, and I’d definitely choose this place again when I return to Florence, whether with friends or family.
What could be improved: A lift would be nice
What could be improved: Not things that would deter me but good to know - there is no staircase and I had a room on floor 4 which was rough with luggage but otherwise barely noticed. Wasn't an issue for me but there's no regular turn down service so if you're expecting to have daily cleaning just be tidy.
What could be improved: It was quite noisy at night as the bedrooms face out onto a road with bars.
What could be improved: No elevator (which they did say to be fair) but the 4th floor is harrowing after a day of sightseeing.
What could be improved: Service feels like everything is AI generated. No room service.
What could be improved: Nothing - they completely exceeded our expectations
What could be improved: There’s no elevator (wasn’t an issue for us), and limited luggage storage after checkout. But overall, a fantastic stay with great memories!
What could be improved: We were on the top floor so there was a lot of stairs.. a big continual spiral staircase up 5 floors! After a few days hiking this was a challenge with luggage, would definitely advise to pack light 😅
The beautiful Boboli Gardens behind the Pitti palace are right next to you.
The apartment we had was big and spacious and had an excellent views of the city.
It was immaculately clean, had a comfortable bed and a great spacious tower.
Numa offered great customer service and was always quick to respond to queries.
The lack of an elevator could obviously be a problem for some.
We would love to come back.
