Numa Florence Felice
Florence, ItalyYou know what struck me first about Numa Florence Felice? The location is absolutely perfect, but not in that touristy way where you’re drowning in crowds. It’s tucked right on Piazza San Felice in the Santo Spirito neighborhood, which honestly feels like the Florence locals actually want you to discover. I mean, you’re still just a quick walk across the Ponte Vecchio to all the major sites, but when you come back in the evening, you’re in this genuinely charming area where people are having aperitivo at corner bars and kids are playing football in the piazza.
The hotel itself has this modern boutique feel – clean lines, contemporary design, but not trying too hard to be trendy. What I really appreciated was how quiet it actually gets at night. Santo Spirito has this lovely residential vibe once the dinner crowd thins out, so you’re not dealing with the constant buzz of Via de’ Tornabuoni or anything like that. The rooms are well-designed (they clearly thought about storage, which is rare), and the beds are legitimately comfortable – I’m talking proper sleep, not just “okay for a few nights” comfort. The bathrooms are sleek and modern, though if you’re particularly tall, the shower might feel a bit snug.
What really sets this place apart is the neighborhood knowledge you’ll gain just by staying here. The staff actually lives in Florence (shocking, I know), and they’ll point you toward places like Il Santo Bevitore for dinner or that little gelateria on Via Santo Spirito that doesn’t have a line of tourists but serves some of the best stracciatella in the city. You’re also perfectly positioned for morning walks through the Oltrarno artisan workshops before they get busy – there’s something magical about hearing the craftspeople start their day while you’re grabbing coffee at Ditta Artigianale around the corner. The 8.8 rating makes total sense to me because it delivers on what actually matters: location that feels authentic, comfortable spaces that work, and that sense of being in Florence rather than just visiting it. Sure, it’s not the cheapest option, but honestly, for a 4-star place in this part of the city, you’re getting solid value – especially considering you’ll spend way less time in transit to anywhere you actually want to go.

Guest Reviews
Check-in and check-out were super easy, and the staff was very helpful and responsive via messages. The apartment was spotlessly clean and very convenient — having three bathrooms was a big plus for our group of friends, as it saved us a lot of time getting ready. The beds were really large and comfortable.
The location is excellent — in a lively area with lots of people and activity even at night, which we enjoyed. While it could be a bit noisy in the evenings, it didn't bother us, and the apartment even provided earplugs, which was a thoughtful touch.
We had a wonderful time, and I’d definitely choose this place again when I return to Florence, whether with friends or family.
What could be improved: A lift would be nice
What could be improved: Not things that would deter me but good to know - there is no staircase and I had a room on floor 4 which was rough with luggage but otherwise barely noticed. Wasn't an issue for me but there's no regular turn down service so if you're expecting to have daily cleaning just be tidy.
What could be improved: It was quite noisy at night as the bedrooms face out onto a road with bars.
What could be improved: No elevator (which they did say to be fair) but the 4th floor is harrowing after a day of sightseeing.
What could be improved: Service feels like everything is AI generated. No room service.
What could be improved: Nothing - they completely exceeded our expectations
What could be improved: There’s no elevator (wasn’t an issue for us), and limited luggage storage after checkout. But overall, a fantastic stay with great memories!
What could be improved: We were on the top floor so there was a lot of stairs.. a big continual spiral staircase up 5 floors! After a few days hiking this was a challenge with luggage, would definitely advise to pack light 😅
The beautiful Boboli Gardens behind the Pitti palace are right next to you.
The apartment we had was big and spacious and had an excellent views of the city.
It was immaculately clean, had a comfortable bed and a great spacious tower.
Numa offered great customer service and was always quick to respond to queries.
The lack of an elevator could obviously be a problem for some.
We would love to come back.
