Look, I’ve stayed in a lot of places in Florence, and N4U Guest House honestly surprised me in the best way. You know that stretch of Via del Proconsolo right before it hits the Duomo? That’s where you’ll find this gem – and I mean it when I say the location is absolutely unbeatable. I’m talking about rolling out of bed and being at the Uffizi in literally two minutes. The first morning I stayed there, I actually thought I’d gotten lost because I reached Piazza della Signoria so quickly.

The thing about this place is that it feels like someone’s thoughtfully designed apartment rather than a typical tourist crash pad. The rooms have this warm, lived-in quality – not fancy in a stuffy way, but genuinely comfortable with those little touches that make you feel settled. I mean, there’s decent WiFi (crucial, obviously), the beds are actually supportive, and the bathrooms have proper water pressure, which… well, if you’ve stayed in historic Florence buildings before, you know that’s not always a given. What really got me was how quiet it stays at night despite being smack in the heart of everything. Sure, you’ll hear some street sounds during the day – it’s the city center after all – but once evening hits, it’s surprisingly peaceful.

The staff genuinely knows their stuff about the neighborhood too. They pointed me toward this little enoteca on Via dei Georgofili that I never would have found otherwise, and when I mentioned wanting to hit the Accademia without the crazy crowds, they actually mapped out the best times to go. That kind of local insight is gold, honestly. The breakfast situation is simple but solid – fresh pastries, decent coffee, nothing elaborate but it does the job and gets you fueled up for a day of walking around those cobblestones. And speaking of walking, everything you want to see is right there – the Bargello is around the corner, Santa Croce is a pleasant ten-minute stroll, and you can weave through the Oltrarno without dealing with any buses or taxis. I found myself coming back between museum visits just because it was so easy, which is something you really appreciate when your feet are screaming after hours of sightseeing. The whole experience just works – it’s that sweet spot where you get the authentic Florence vibe without sacrificing comfort, and the 8.8 rating makes total sense once you’ve actually stayed there.

  I have stayed in Florence before and if you are central it is noisy at night. The aircon with double glazed windows were perfect for us for such central location 200m from Duomo. Very well received, super clean, lovely breakfast served with a smile wit hot cappuccino! Then of course the New York room that was the best of all!

  Great location walking distance to the major sights we were interested in, painted ceiling and chandelier really made for a nice decor, our king room also had a couch and was spacious. Excellent breakfast. The window had three closures that really made the room quiet and dark. Modern, updated bathroom. Nice hosts.
