Le robbiane 44 – 46
First Impressions
Walking up to Le robbiane 44 – 46 for the first time, you immediately notice how it blends into the residential fabric of Florence — and honestly, that’s exactly what makes it special. This four-star boutique property sits quietly on Via dei della Robbia, away from the tourist chaos but close enough that you can walk to the Duomo in about twenty minutes. The building itself has that understated Florentine elegance, with cream-colored walls and green shutters that look like they’ve been there forever.
The Campo di Marte Advantage
You know what I love about this location? It’s in Campo di Marte, which means you’re living like a local rather than a tourist. There’s a fantastic morning market just around the corner where vendors actually remember your face after a couple of visits, and the neighborhood has this authentic energy that the historic center sometimes lacks. The train station is a quick walk away too — I mean, if you’re planning day trips to other Tuscan towns, you couldn’t ask for better access. Plus, there’s decent parking nearby, which anyone who’s driven in Florence will tell you is basically a miracle.
The Room Experience
My room was larger than I expected — actually spacious by Italian standards, with high ceilings and original architectural details that reminded me why I fell in love with Florence in the first place. The design strikes this perfect balance between contemporary comfort and classic Italian style, with quality linens and a bathroom that’s been thoughtfully updated. What really impressed me was the attention to soundproofing; despite being on a city street, nights were surprisingly quiet.
Neighborhood Dining
Here’s something the guidebooks won’t tell you — some of the best eating in Florence happens in this area, not in the touristy spots near the Ponte Vecchio. There’s this incredible family-run restaurant called Il Vegetariano (yes, it’s vegetarian, but even carnivores rave about it) just a few blocks away. For morning coffee, locals line up at the bar on the corner — you’ll know you’ve found the right place when you’re the only non-Italian there at 7 AM.
Why Guests Love It
The 9.7 rating honestly makes sense once you’ve stayed here. It’s not trying to be the fanciest place in town, but everything works exactly as it should. The staff genuinely cares about your experience — they’ll draw you maps, make dinner reservations, and share those insider tips that make a trip memorable. Couples especially seem to appreciate the romantic yet relaxed atmosphere (the location rating of 9.8 from couples speaks for itself). You’re close enough to everything that matters, but far enough from the crowds that you can actually breathe and enjoy being in one of the world’s most beautiful cities.
