You’re positioned perfectly between Florence and Pisa (about 45 minutes to either), but without the crowds and inflated prices. I mean, you can actually breathe here and feel like you’re experiencing authentic Tuscany rather than fighting through tour groups. The train connections from nearby Montecatini are solid if you want to explore without driving, though honestly, having a car opens up so many more possibilities in this region.

The Room Experience

My room was larger than I expected — these aren’t cramped European hotel boxes. The decor strikes this nice balance between traditional Tuscan elements and modern comfort, though I wouldn’t call it cutting-edge design or anything. What I really appreciated was the attention to practical details: good lighting for reading, plenty of outlets, and a bathroom that actually had decent water pressure. The beds are genuinely comfortable too, which matters more than you might think after long days of sightseeing.

The on-site restaurant surprised me — I went in with pretty low expectations (hotel restaurants, you know?), but they’re clearly taking the food seriously here.   Very nice place, would recommend! (Stayed here june 2024). We had a welcome reception and quick check-in. The apartment was surly big enough for 2 people, was clean, was well isolated against the heat and had a decent citchenette. The domain was big and would be very suitable for kids to have fun. We enjoyed ourself at the pool.
