Globus Urban Hotel
First Impressions
Walking up to Globus Urban Hotel on Via S. Antonino, you immediately get that “this is exactly where I want to be” feeling. It’s tucked into the San Lorenzo neighborhood — honestly one of Florence‘s most authentic areas — and the building itself has this understated elegance that doesn’t scream tourist trap. The entrance is clean and modern without being sterile, which I appreciated after trudging around with luggage all day.
Location That Actually Matters
Here’s what I mean about San Lorenzo being perfect — you’re literally a five-minute walk from the Duomo, but you’re not dealing with the chaos of staying right on top of it. The Central Market is practically next door, amazing for grabbing fresh fruit or that bottle of wine you forgot, and the Medici Chapels are close enough that you can pop over without planning your whole day around it. The couples rating this place 9.4 makes total sense — there’s something romantic about wandering these quieter streets in the evening, then being able to slip back to your accommodation without fighting through crowds.
The Room Experience
The beds here are genuinely comfortable — and I’m someone who usually needs a few nights to adjust to mattresses when traveling. This four-star property clearly invested in quality bedding, because I actually slept through the night without tossing around. The room design is clean and contemporary, with enough space to spread out your stuff without feeling cramped. The bathrooms are well-appointed too, with good water pressure, which you know can be hit-or-miss in historic Italian buildings.
Breakfast Worth Waking Up For
The breakfast setup impressed me more than I expected. They’ve got the continental basics covered, but the Italian options are where they really shine — proper espresso, fresh pastries, and local specialties that actually taste like they were made that morning. What surprised me was how well they handle dietary restrictions; the vegetarian and vegan selections weren’t just afterthoughts, and the buffet style means you can take your time figuring out what works for you. The dedicated dining area provides a comfortable space to start your day properly.
Why Guests Love It
That 9.6 location score isn’t just marketing fluff — it reflects how this place sits in that sweet spot between accessibility and authenticity. You’re close enough to everything that matters, but far enough from the tourist madness to actually relax when you get back. The staff seems to understand that balance too; they’re helpful without being overly formal, and they know the neighborhood well enough to give you real recommendations. It’s the kind of place where you feel like you’re staying in Florence, not just visiting it. This property delivers on the promise of an authentic Florentine experience without sacrificing comfort or convenience, making it an ideal choice for travelers seeking both cultural immersion and modern amenities.

Guest Reviews
Friendly staff who were helpful and concise
Lovely personal touches - biscuits and note on door handle morning of check-out, and birthday wine
Very central - about 5 mins from train station and Duomo. Lots of restaurants nearby
Room was small but this was ok and adequate for the stay - it was big enough (bigger than I expected based on other reviews)
Bed was also a good size and very comfortable
I’d definitely come back here if staying in Florence again
