I mean, you can grab the early train to Cinque Terre without dealing with morning traffic, and there’s this little bar called Caffè Centrale just around the corner where locals actually drink their morning espresso (standing up, obviously). The apartment itself feels more like staying at a friend’s place than a hotel – well, if your friend had really good taste and kept everything spotless. The 9.7 rating isn’t just because people are being nice; the attention to detail is genuinely impressive. They’ve got this way of making modern amenities feel natural in what’s clearly a traditional Florentine building, and the beds are actually comfortable, not just pretty to look at.

What really sold me was the neighborhood vibe, though. You’re in Santa Maria Novella, which means you’re close enough to walk everywhere that matters – the Uffizi is maybe fifteen minutes on foot – but you’re not drowning in tour groups every time you step outside. There’s a weekly market on Thursdays just down the street where you can grab actual groceries instead of overpriced tourist snacks, and the evening passeggiata along the Arno is an easy stroll away. The staff (well, I think it’s family-run, but don’t quote me on that) seem to know the city inside and out. They gave me directions to this tiny trattoria near San Lorenzo that I never would have found otherwise, and honestly, it was better than the fancy place I’d originally planned to visit. The only minor thing – and this is really minor – is that the street can get a bit busy during rush hour, but Florence rush hour is pretty manageable compared to most cities, and the windows are good enough that it’s not really an issue inside.
