Brunelleschi suite
First Impressions
Walking up to the fifth floor of this historic Florentine building, you know you’re in for something special at Brunelleschi suite. The location alone — right on Via dei Brunelleschi — tells you everything about how central this four-star property really is. I mean, you’re literally steps from the Duomo, and the street itself feels like a slice of authentic Florence that hasn’t been completely overtaken by tourist shops. The building has that classic Italian elegance you hope for, though honestly, the elevator ride to the fifth floor gives you a moment to appreciate just how perfectly positioned you are in the heart of Santa Maria Novella.
Location & Neighborhood
This is where Brunelleschi suite absolutely shines — and I’m not exaggerating when I say the location score of 10.0 is well-deserved. You can walk to the Duomo in about three minutes, maybe less if you’re eager to see Brunelleschi’s famous dome (there’s something poetic about staying on a street named after the architect himself). The Uffizi is a pleasant ten-minute stroll, and you’re surrounded by some of Florence’s best restaurants and cafes that locals actually frequent. What I love most is that despite being in the real heart of Florence, the street itself doesn’t feel like a tourist trap — you’ll see Florentines going about their daily business, which adds to the authentic atmosphere.
The Suite Experience
The suite itself strikes that perfect balance between historic charm and modern comfort that’s honestly hard to find in Florence. You get the high ceilings and period details you’d expect from a building in this part of the city, but everything feels fresh and well-maintained. The space is generous by Italian standards — actually generous, not just “cozy” like some places try to spin it. From the windows, you get glimpses of the surrounding medieval streets, and there’s something magical about waking up knowing you’re sleeping in the same neighborhood where Renaissance masters once walked.
What Makes It Special
Beyond the incredible location, what sets this place apart is how it manages to feel both upscale and genuinely Florentine. You’re not staying in some sterile hotel that could be anywhere — this feels rooted in its neighborhood. The building itself has character, and being on the fifth floor means you get a bit of elevation above the street level bustle. I particularly appreciate that you can step outside and immediately feel like you’re part of Florence’s daily rhythm, not just observing it from the sidelines like you might at some of the larger hotels near the train station.
Why Guests Love It
That perfect 10.0 location rating from couples makes complete sense once you experience it yourself. There’s something undeniably romantic about being able to wander hand-in-hand to all of Florence’s iconic spots without dealing with long walks or crowded transport. You can pop back to the suite between sightseeing, grab an aperitivo at a nearby enoteca, and still make it to dinner reservations without breaking a sweat. It’s the kind of place where you feel like you’re living in Florence rather than just visiting — and honestly, that’s exactly what you want from a stay in this incredible city.
Hotels near me in Tuscany deliver quick drives to Val d’Orcia lookouts, artisan workshops, and cypress-lined cycling routes.

Guest Reviews
Massimo was a great host and the check in process was nice and easy. Would highly recommend.
Nice to have the washing machine
Unit is located within walking distance to Train station, Firenze SM Novella.
Host was very responsive and nice, check-in went very smooth.
The unit is located on high floor, very quite, but has elevator so no need to worry.
It has 2-in-1 washing and dryer machine (but not a separate air tumble dry unit)
The unit has air conditioner. stove, refrigerator.
We really enjoyed our stay.
Massimo and Gabriela are charming, attentive and stylish hosts.. Their apartment was perfect for our 7 night stay.
The apartment is spacious, beautifully designed, well equipped and super quiet! no outside noise can be heard when windows are shut - there is loads of storage space with a walk in cuboard.
The bed is large and comfortable. the modern air conditioner (2 units) worked perfectly.
This apartment is on the 5th floor of a tall Period building so you need the lift to be working properly. The antique (apparantly 150 year old) Lift worked flawlessly during our stay and was beutifully maintained - as was the rest of this stunning building.
This is our 8th trip to Florence so we know what to expect. This apartment exceeded our expectations... x
