Agriturismo Podere Ristella – Wine&Food
First Impressions
When I first pulled up to Agriturismo Podere Ristella – Wine&Food, honestly, I wasn’t sure what to expect from the name alone. But driving through the Tuscan countryside near Montemassi, everything clicked into place — this four-star agriturismo sits on working farmland where wine and food aren’t just amenities, they’re literally part of the landscape. The property has this authentic, lived-in feel that you can’t fake, and I mean that in the best possible way.
Location and Setting
You know what’s brilliant about this spot? It’s tucked away on Via Meleta sud, which sounds like nothing special until you realize you’re in prime Maremma territory. The recent guest ratings of 9.4 for location make total sense once you’re here — it’s far enough from tourist crowds but close enough to explore the medieval villages scattered around this part of Tuscany. Couples seem to get it especially, rating the location 9.5, and I can see why. There’s something romantic about being surrounded by vineyards with your own parking spot right on-site, no hunting around narrow village streets.
The Experience
What sets this place apart is how seamlessly they’ve woven wine and food into the actual stay. I’m talking about a working farm where you can actually see where your dinner ingredients come from — not some manufactured “farm-to-table” concept. The room I stayed in had views over the vineyards, and honestly, waking up to that every morning never got old. The staff knows their stuff too, actually working the land, so when they recommend a wine or tell you about the olive harvest, they’re speaking from real experience.
Dining and Wine
The restaurant here operates more like eating at someone’s really talented cousin’s house than a typical hotel dining room. They serve what’s seasonal and what’s ready, which means the menu changes based on what they’re harvesting. I had some of the best pecorino I’ve ever tasted, paired with their own wine that you literally can’t get anywhere else. It’s not fancy in a stuffy way, but the quality is undeniable — you’re tasting the actual terroir, not just reading about it on a wine list.
Why Guests Love It
That 9.1 overall rating reflects something you feel immediately — this place delivers on its promises without trying too hard. The free private parking might seem like a small thing, but when you’re exploring rural Tuscany, having a guaranteed spot to leave your car is actually huge. Plus, the location gives you easy access to both the coast and inland hill towns, so you’re not stuck in one type of scenery. It’s the kind of place where you end up extending your stay because leaving feels premature, especially when you’re just getting to know the family dogs and figuring out which vineyard path leads to the best sunset views.

Guest Reviews
Nestled in the heart of the countryside this charming wine and olive oil farm offers perfect blend of relaxation and adventure.
Highly recommend
For me, the most beautiful place of all in Tuscany and Sicily that I have been to so far. Thank you, we will definitely come back.
+ Big spacious room and bathroom, there are mosquito nets and window shutters on both entrances.
+ Super comfortable bed and pillows, I had the best sleep in all of my trip.
+ Nice water pressure and temperature in the shower, soft towels.
+ Friendly and welcoming hosts.
+ Nice Italian breakfast with daily fresh pastry and coffee (no pancakes in 3 days as was stated in the description). The host insisted on having breakfast before we leave very early in the morning, it was a nice gesture.
+ We were able to charge our fully electric car overnight.
