Hotel Description

You know what’s funny about finding great places in Tuscany? Sometimes the best ones are hiding in plain sight in these tiny villages you’d never think to visit. That’s exactly what happened when I stumbled across Agriturismo Bellandi in Santa Lucia – honestly, I had to double-check my GPS because this little hamlet feels like it exists outside of time entirely.

The moment you pull up to Via Giacomo Matteotti 48, you get it. This isn’t some slick hotel operation trying to play farmhouse – it’s the real deal, where the Bellandi family has been working this land for generations and just happens to be incredibly good at hospitality too. The building itself has that weathered stone look that you can’t fake, with thick walls that keep everything cool even during those brutal August afternoons when the rest of Tuscany is melting. I mean, the air conditioning is there if you need it, but honestly, you might not. The check-in process is refreshingly personal – no marble lobby nonsense, just genuine conversation about where you’re from and what brought you to this corner of Italy.

What really sets this place apart (and probably explains that 9.7 rating) is how effortlessly it balances authentic farm life with actual comfort. You’ll wake up to roosters, sure, but your bed is seriously comfortable and the bathroom has one of those rainfall showers that makes you want to linger. The breakfast spread features ingredients from their own land – we’re talking eggs from chickens you can literally see pecking around outside, olive oil that tastes like liquid gold, and bread that’s still warm when they bring it out. There’s this terrace where you can sit with your morning coffee and watch the mist burn off the hills, and honestly, it’s the kind of view that makes you understand why people fall in love with Tuscany in the first place. The evenings are magical too – they’ll arrange these family-style dinners where everyone gathers around long wooden tables, sharing wine and stories until way later than you planned. Parking is easy (just pull right up), and the whole area stays pretty quiet even during peak season since most tourists stick to the bigger towns. If you’re looking for nightlife, well, this isn’t your spot – but if you want to experience the Italy that still exists beyond the Instagram posts, where hospitality means something and every meal feels like a celebration, then you’ve found your place.

Antonella and Giampiero were the most incredible hosts. The house was really comfortable and clean, and everything was impeccable. We got to experience a tasting of their olive oil, which was amazing.

A very spacious apartment in which we immediately felt great. Located on the hill full of olive trees and beautiful greenery. There’s a pleasant fragrance everywhere, and the cleanliness is at a high standard. The bed linens and towels are also nicely scented. The bed is large enough and comfortable. The apartment has its own unique charm, thanks to tasteful accessories and well-chosen colors. We loved the porcelain tea set. As a thoughtful touch, we were welcomed with delicious homemade cookies and olive oil. This is how I imagine a romantic getaway.
The owners are very kind, attentive to their guests’ needs, and helpful. It was a wonderful stay.

Beautiful property, huge terrace to relax and enjoy the view of the countryside. Quiet location but good for exploring Lucca nearby. Very friendly and welcoming hosts! Very beautiful rustic apartment with modern bathroom.

Everything was perfect! What a warm welcome from the family. The room was very clean and literally had everything. They thought of so many details, which was amazing. We spend a week here to work remote, and this was perfect as well. Two very good working spaces and the WiFi is great. The area is wonderful. The apartment had everything, think of; airco in both rooms, coffee machine, very well equipped kitchen, washing machine, dish washer, and I can go on for a long time. Furthermore it was super clean. There are sitting areas all over the area with a perfect view. The family honestly cared about us, which was so touching. We have spend over a month in Italy and our highlight was this stay. Please don’t hesitate and book! The olive oil tasting was the best thing we did in Italy. Thank you so much for this and we will be back next year!
