Adler Spa Resort Thermae
Bagno Vignoni, ItalyLook, I’ve stayed at plenty of fancy places in Tuscany, but Adler Spa Resort Thermae is something else entirely. You know when you pull up to a hotel and immediately think “okay, this is going to be good”? That’s exactly what happened when I first saw this place tucked into the hills of Bagno Vignoni. The building itself feels like it grew out of the landscape – all that warm travertine stone and clean lines that somehow manage to look both modern and timeless. And honestly, the location is just brilliant. You’re literally walking distance from those famous thermal pools in the village square (the ones that have been steaming away since Roman times), but far enough up the hillside that you feel like you’re in your own private world.
What really sets this place apart – and I mean really – is how they’ve handled the whole thermal spa experience. Most hotels just throw some hot water in a pool and call it a day, but these guys actually know what they’re doing. The thermal waters here come from the same source that feeds the medieval baths down in the village, and you can feel the difference in your bones. I spent hours in their outdoor infinity pool, watching the sun set over the Val d’Orcia while soaking in naturally heated water that’s been bubbling up from underground for centuries. The spa treatments are legitimate too – not just fancy packaging, but therapists who understand how to work with thermal water and local ingredients. I had a massage with olive oil from estates you can literally see from your room, and it was the kind of experience that makes you understand why people have been coming to this valley for healing since before Christ was born.
The rooms deserve a mention because they’re thoughtfully designed in a way that feels rare these days. Big windows that actually open (revolutionary concept, I know), and the beds face toward the countryside instead of just wherever the architect felt like putting them. Everything’s done in natural materials – lots of wood and stone that doesn’t feel cold or sterile. The bathrooms are genuinely impressive, with these deep soaking tubs that fill with thermal water if you want. And here’s something I appreciated – the whole place is quiet. No road noise, no construction, just the sound of birds and maybe some distant church bells from San Quirico d’Orcia. The staff gets it too; they’re not hovering or overly formal, but they know their stuff about the area. Ask them about hiking trails or where to find the best pecorino, and you’ll get real answers. It’s expensive, sure, but when you’re sitting on your terrace at sunset with a glass of Brunello, looking out over landscapes that inspired Renaissance painters, you sort of forget about the price tag. This is the kind of place you book when you want to remember why you fell in love with Italy in the first place.

What could be improved: Nothing
The property is beautiful.
What could be improved: Not sure if it is the right choice for people who would like to spend normal vacation in luxury hotel . To me is it is a wellness hotel . With the same price there are better options in Tuscany if you book early .
What could be improved: We have nothing bad to say
