AC Hotel by Marriott Pisa
Pisa, ItalyYou know what struck me first about the AC Hotel by Marriott Pisa? It’s actually tucked away on Via delle Torri, which honestly sounds way more dramatic than it is – but that’s kind of perfect for this place. The location is sort of genius if you think about it. You’re close enough to walk to the Leaning Tower (maybe 15 minutes if you’re not dawdling), but far enough away that you won’t be dealing with the tourist chaos right outside your window at 7 AM.
The hotel itself has that sleek AC Hotels vibe – you know, clean lines, lots of white and dark wood, the kind of minimalist design that photographs well but actually works in real life too. I mean, the lobby feels more like a stylish coworking space than a traditional hotel, which I guess is the point. The rooms are compact but smart about it, with those platform beds that somehow make everything feel more spacious. The bathroom setup is particularly well thought out – separate shower with good pressure, which honestly matters more than most people admit when they’re writing reviews. One thing though: if you’re someone who needs a lot of storage space for clothes, you might find the closet situation a bit tight.
What really makes this place work is the staff – they seem to actually know Pisa beyond just the obvious tourist spots. The front desk guy recommended this little osteria called Da Bruno (not the touristy one near the tower, but the real one locals go to), and it ended up being one of those perfect discoveries you remember long after you’ve forgotten what you paid for the room. The breakfast is solid too, nothing revolutionary but proper coffee and fresh pastries, plus they’ve got those little details figured out – like having oat milk available without making a big deal about it. The rooftop terrace is where you want to be in the evenings, especially during summer when the whole city sort of exhales after the day-trippers head back to their cruise ships. You can actually see the Duomo from up there if you know where to look, and the sunset hits just right around 8 PM in July.
Parking is in a garage nearby – not free, but welcome to Italy, right? The neighborhood gets pretty quiet after dinner, which is exactly what you want after spending the day navigating crowds at the Piazza dei Miracoli. I’d say this place hits that sweet spot where it feels contemporary and efficient without being soulless. It’s not trying to be a palace or charm you with fake Tuscan country vibes – it’s just a really well-executed hotel that happens to be in one of Italy’s most visited cities. If you’re the type who appreciates good design and doesn’t need someone in a uniform to carry your bags, you’ll probably love it here.

Guest Reviews
What could be improved: The staff
The location is good if you’re coming from the motorway, it’s not close to the city centre though.
What could be improved: Booking
What could be improved: Location was ok close to airport which is what we wanted
What could be improved: Not very central
What could be improved: The location of the hotel is a little outside the city. You should definitely use a taxi.
What could be improved: I was offered during check-in to pay in advance for the breakfast on the next morning with a special fee (10 euros), or in the other day if I decide, I would have to pay 15 euros per person. My son wanted to eat breakfast, buy according to the rules, we were not able to buy only for him the breakfast in advance (they told us that we had to buy for all 3 in the room). As I and my wife don´t eat breakfast, we have not eaten breakfast at the hotel.
