You know what? I’ve walked past YOLE Affittacamere on Piazza Guido Guerra probably a dozen times before I actually stayed there, and honestly, I was kicking myself for waiting so long. The building sits right on this charming little square that most tourists blow right past on their way to Florence – which is actually perfect, because you get all the Tuscan atmosphere without the crowds breathing down your neck.

The first thing that struck me was how quiet it gets at night. I mean, you’re literally in the heart of Empoli, but once the evening passeggiata winds down around 9 PM, it’s surprisingly peaceful. The rooms have this perfect balance of being updated enough that everything works (the shower pressure is actually decent, thank god) but they haven’t stripped away all the character. There’s something about the way the afternoon light filters through those windows that just… well, it makes you want to grab a book and just exist for a while. The hosts – and I’m pretty sure they live nearby because they always seemed to know exactly when I was coming back – have this knack for being helpful without hovering. They’ll point you toward the good gelato place (it’s the one on Via del Giglio, not the touristy spot near the train station) and actually remember your name after day one.

What really sold me on this place was the location, though I didn’t fully appreciate it until my second morning. You’re a five-minute walk from the Collegiata di Sant’Andrea – seriously beautiful church that nobody talks about – and the morning market happens right around the corner on Thursdays. Plus, if you’re planning day trips, the train station is close enough that you don’t need a taxi, but far enough that you don’t hear the announcements at 6 AM. I took the train to Florence twice and to Pisa once, and honestly, coming back to Empoli each evening felt like escaping to somewhere real. The thing is, Empoli isn’t trying to be picturesque for tourists – it’s just a working Tuscan town that happens to be beautiful, and YOLE feels like it fits that vibe perfectly. The whole experience felt more like staying at a friend’s place than a hotel, if that friend happened to have impeccable taste and actually knew how to make a proper espresso. At 9.6 rating, it’s one of those places where you understand the high score isn’t just about fancy amenities – it’s about getting everything right in a way that feels effortless.

It was very nice, if we have to come here again, we will definitely book this place. Thanks. Breakfast was ok, we enjoyed it. Location was perfect for why we came down here, close to the place we came to visit.

What could be improved: The biggest complaint is the wifi is horrible at least in our room (No.2), practicable useless.
We needed an iron and there wasn't one in our room, it would have been fantastic to have it available.

Carefully thought out, well designed rooms. Ideal to explore Florence and the Tuscan region. Carefully thought out, well designed rooms. We liked the atmosphere and playfulness of the rooms. We were travelling to Livorno, but the location is practical if you want to visit Florence or explore the region. The communication with the owner was very easy. Getting in to the rooms went very smoothly. Definitely worth trying: Gelateria Gindo (350 m) and for breakfast or coffee Pasticceria La Perla (170 m).

What could be improved: Everything was fine. We had no problem.

Yole Affiticamera 5 star 5 STAR review.
What an amazing find. This wonderful boutique B&B set a few yards from the centre of Empoli. We had a beautiful en suite room with everything catered for, including aircon for the warm evenings. Sunny large balcony with soft lighting to sit out in the evenings. Monia and the girls keep everything immaculate. Monia helped us out with taxis and was always met with a warm, friendly greeting by all.
Amazing value for money.
Highly recommended.

What could be improved: Nothing. Everything was perfect.

You should definitely try! AMAZING! Suberb! The atmosphere was amazing, we felt like we were in the wonderland. From the bathroom amenities, the fridge, the goodies we got, the included breakfast on a nearby pastry shop (that opens at 6). Best of then all!

What could be improved: Nothing to the declare. We just wish all the following properties we’ve been to in Italy were this good.
