Windows on Dome Luxury Rooftop
Florence, ItalyFirst Impressions
Walking up four flights of stairs to reach Windows on Dome Luxury Rooftop might leave you slightly winded, but honestly — the moment you step inside, you’ll forget all about those steps. The space feels intimate and sophisticated, with floor-to-ceiling windows that frame Florence‘s skyline like living artwork. I mean, the name pretty much tells you everything you need to know, but seeing Brunelleschi’s dome practically within arm’s reach is something else entirely. The property sits right on Via dei Servi, which puts you in the heart of everything without the tourist chaos that comes with being directly on the main squares.
Location & Neighborhood
You’re positioned perfectly between the Duomo and Piazza della Santissima Annunziata — actually, it’s about a three-minute walk to the cathedral and maybe five to reach the Accademia (where Michelangelo’s David lives). The San Marco district has this wonderful mix of locals heading to work and visitors discovering hidden gems. There’s a fantastic little café called Gilli just around the corner where you can grab proper Italian coffee, and the covered market at San Lorenzo is close enough for morning pastry runs. What I love about this spot is that you’re central but not overwhelmed — couples especially seem to appreciate having romantic dinner options within walking distance while still feeling like they’ve found their own private retreat above the city.
The Rooftop Experience
The real magic happens when you step onto that rooftop terrace. Florence spreads out below you in terracotta waves, with the dome dominating the view in the most spectacular way. During golden hour — and trust me on this — the light hits the buildings just right, creating this warm glow that makes everything look like a Renaissance painting. You’ll find yourself taking photos constantly, but somehow none of them quite capture what it feels like to be up there. The space is designed for relaxation, with comfortable seating areas where you can actually spend hours just watching the city wake up or wind down.
The Accommodation
The rooms themselves feel more like a sophisticated apartment than a traditional hotel setup. Everything’s been thoughtfully designed to maximize those incredible views — the bed positioning, the seating areas, even the bathroom placement seems to consider the panorama outside. The interiors strike this nice balance between modern comfort and respecting the historic building’s character. You’ll notice details like quality linens and well-chosen furnishings, but nothing feels overdone or trying too hard. The space feels genuinely livable, which matters when you’re planning to spend time here rather than just crash between sightseeing sessions.
Why Guests Love It
That 9.7 rating makes perfect sense once you’ve experienced the place yourself. It’s not just about having a great view (though that certainly doesn’t hurt) — it’s about feeling like you’ve discovered something special that most visitors never find. The combination of prime location, intimate atmosphere, and those unforgettable rooftop moments creates exactly the kind of Florence experience that couples dream about. You know what really sets Windows on Dome Upscale Rooftop apart? It delivers on its promise without any gimmicks or overselling — just an exceptional space in an extraordinary location that lets Florence’s natural beauty do all the talking.

Guest Reviews
What could be improved: As Americans, we don't always find the appliances to work intuitively (for us). We didn't figure out the oven!
The property itself is amazing. It’s clean, well-maintained, and features gorgeous high ceilings that give it a spacious feel.
What truly stood out was the host's exceptional service. Even during the holiday, he responded quickly to my inquiries and came over to show me something that made my stay even more comfortable. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a memorable stay!
What could be improved: Nothing
What could be improved: The stay was excellent with one minor inconvenience. We were given instructions to discard our trash the morning of checkout (instructions received after we already went to bed). There was no instruction guide in the apartment. The trash bin is about 1.5 blocks away as another reviewer stated. Of all our years of traveling globally this is the first time we were asked to do this and seems odd given they have cleaning service that would clean the unit.
What could be improved: All was absolutely wonderful.
