First Impressions

When I first pulled up to Tuscasì Aparthotel, I’ll be honest — it felt more like discovering a hidden gem than checking into a typical four-star property. The building sits quietly on Via Perugini in Sovicille, and there’s something refreshingly understated about the whole setup. You know what struck me immediately? How the staff actually remembered my name after the first conversation, which doesn’t happen everywhere these days.

The Aparthotel Concept

Here’s where Tuscasì really shines — it’s got that perfect aparthotel balance where you’re not cramped in a standard room, but you’re also not dealing with the hassle of a full rental. Each unit comes with a proper kitchenette (and I mean proper, not just a mini-fridge and microwave situation), which honestly saved me a fortune on meals. The living spaces feel genuinely livable, not like someone just stuck a couch in a hotel room and called it an apartment. I actually found myself cooking breakfast most mornings instead of heading out, which says something about how comfortable the setup is.

Location and Surroundings

Sovicille isn’t one of those Tuscan towns that gets overrun with tour buses, which is exactly why couples seem to love this place so much. You’re about 15 minutes from Siena by car — close enough for easy day trips but far enough to escape the crowds. The surrounding countryside is the real deal, with those rolling hills and cypress-lined roads you see in postcards. What I didn’t expect was how walkable the immediate area is; there’s a decent grocery store within walking distance, and the local trattoria (which the front desk will happily point you toward) serves some of the best pici I had during my entire stay in Tuscany.

The Rooms and Amenities

My apartment had this great terrace that looked out over the hills — nothing fancy, just a simple outdoor space where you could actually sit with morning coffee without feeling like you’re on display. The Wi-Fi worked reliably (always a concern when you’re outside major cities), and the air conditioning was quiet enough that it didn’t keep me up at night. I mean, the decor isn’t going to win any design awards, but everything felt clean and well-maintained. The bathroom was spacious by European standards, with a proper shower that had decent water pressure.

Why Guests Love It

What really sets Tuscasì apart is how it lets you experience Tuscany without the tourist circus. You can grocery shop like a local, cook with ingredients from the nearby markets, and still have hotel-level service when you need it. The staff genuinely seems to care about helping you make the most of the area — they’ll suggest hiking trails, recommend wineries that aren’t overrun, and help arrange transportation without making you feel like they’re just pushing expensive tours. For couples especially, there’s something romantic about having your own little Tuscan apartment as a home base, complete with that terrace for evening wine and the kind of peaceful surroundings that make you want to slow down and actually relax.

Tuscany’s hotels pair barrel-aging cellars, fresco breakfasts, and concierge-led Siena cathedral climbs.

It is located in a small village near Siena, in a great position for touring Tuscany. The aparthotel is new, quiet and extremely clean, with good facilities. The staff is very kind. Parking is free. Our room had a beautiful view of the surroundings. Breakfast is basic and tasty. It has a gym, as well as the possibility to wash or iron clothes (self-service). Big recommendation for those who would visit this part of Italy by car.
