The Frame Hotel
Florence, ItalyYou know that moment when you walk into a hotel and it just feels right? That’s exactly what happened when I first stepped into The Frame Hotel on Via Panzani. I mean, the location alone had me sold – you’re literally a three-minute walk from Santa Maria Novella station, which honestly makes arriving from the airport so much easier than dealing with those narrow Florence streets in a taxi.
The thing about this place is that it sits right in the thick of everything without being chaotic. Via Panzani is one of those streets that locals actually use, not just tourists, so you get this authentic Florence vibe the moment you step outside. There’s a fantastic little café right around the corner where I’d grab my morning espresso (way better than hotel coffee, let’s be honest), and the central market is close enough that you can smell the fresh produce on breezy mornings. The hotel itself has this contemporary design that somehow doesn’t clash with the historic neighborhood – they’ve done something clever with the interiors that feels modern but respectful, if that makes sense.
What really impressed me was how quiet the rooms stayed despite being so central. I was worried about street noise, especially since Via Panzani gets decent foot traffic, but the windows actually block out most of the sound. The staff seemed to genuinely know Florence too, not just the tourist spots – when I asked about a good place for aperitivo away from the crowds, they sent me to this little wine bar near Santo Spirito that I never would’ve found otherwise. The rooms aren’t huge (this is Florence, after all), but they’re thoughtfully designed with plenty of storage and really good lighting, which matters more than you’d think when you’re trying to get ready for dinner. Check-in was smooth, and they let me store my luggage early since I’d arrived on one of those brutal morning flights.
Here’s the thing – with a 9 rating, you might expect perfection, but what you actually get is something better: a hotel that understands what travelers need without trying too hard. The breakfast spread was solid (actual Italian pastries, not the sad international buffet stuff), and the location means you can walk to the Duomo, hit the leather market, or catch a train to other cities without any planning stress. It’s the kind of place where you feel like you’re staying in Florence, not just visiting it.

What could be improved: Lounge facility
What could be improved: There is nothing for me to add here
We decided the breakfast was not worth it for us as we wanted to leave early morning with our baby and grab something in the way, but overall I would highly recommend this place and would definitely stay again if I visit Florence one more time.
Thanks The Frame!
What could be improved: Wish it had a pool
What could be improved: The room was convenient and impeccably clean but a bit small.
Would definitely stay with them again.
