Terre Dell’Amore
You know what struck me first about Terre Dell’Amore? The name actually fits – this isn’t just some marketing gimmick. When you’re driving down Strada Squadre Basse (which, honestly, sounds more intimidating than it is), you’ll spot this place tucked away from the main Grosseto hustle, and there’s something immediately welcoming about it. I mean, the building itself has that warm Tuscan stone thing going on, but it’s the little touches that got me – like how the staff genuinely remembered my name after one night, or the way they’ve arranged the entrance so you catch a glimpse of the countryside rolling behind the property before you even check in.
The rooms… well, they’re what you’d expect from a solid 4-star place, but here’s the thing – they actually feel lived-in rather than sterile. The beds are properly comfortable (I’m picky about this stuff), and the bathrooms have decent water pressure, which you can’t always count on in this part of Italy. What I really appreciated was how quiet everything stays at night. You’re close enough to Grosseto that you can easily head into the old town for dinner – maybe a 10-minute drive – but far enough out that you’re not dealing with any street noise or late-night crowds. The parking situation is straightforward too, which sounds boring but trust me, after driving around some Italian cities, you’ll appreciate not having to stress about where to leave your car.
Actually, the location is pretty clever when you think about it. Most people staying here are either exploring the Maremma region or using it as a base for day trips to places like Siena or the coast. The staff seems to get this – they’re full of suggestions about wine tastings in the area or which beaches are worth the drive (apparently Castiglione della Pescaia is the move if you want something less touristy than the obvious spots). The breakfast spread is solid – not just continental stuff, but local cheeses and some really good coffee. I spent a couple mornings just sitting on their terrace with an espresso, watching the morning light hit the hills, and honestly? That’s when the 9.3 rating makes total sense. It’s not trying to be the fanciest place you’ve ever stayed – it’s just doing everything right without any pretense. The kind of spot where you’d actually want to come back, you know?

If you are looking for a place to relax, Terre dell'Amore is the right place.
And if you like fresh mozzarella, don't miss out the producer just 10min drive. Get some bread, prosciutto and you'll have a wonderful snack...or dinner while enjoying the sunset.
We also enjoyed watching the Oplympic games while enjoying the privacy of our Jacuzzi in the room!
Grosseto and its archeological museum is worth a visit!
Really nice staff but they don't speak English, we don't speak Italian so the communication was kept via translator and by hands :-)
