Sweetly Home in Florence
Florence, ItalyFirst Impressions
Walking up to Sweetly Home in Florence, you immediately sense you’ve found something special tucked away on Largo Fratelli Alinari. The building has that understated Florentine elegance — nothing flashy, just solid stone and those classic shuttered windows that make you feel like you’re stepping into a local’s well-kept secret. I mean, the name pretty much says it all, doesn’t it? This place genuinely feels more like staying at a sophisticated friend’s apartment than checking into a typical tourist accommodation.
Location & Neighborhood
Here’s what really gets me about this spot — you’re literally in Santa Maria Novella, which means you can walk to basically everything that matters in Florence. The train station is right there (honestly, perfect if you’re arriving with luggage), but more importantly, you’re a pleasant stroll from the Duomo and all the major sights. What I love is that couples seem to absolutely adore this location — they consistently rate it nearly perfect for romantic getaways. You know what’s rare in Florence? Finding a place in the heart of everything that also offers private parking. Trust me, after navigating those narrow medieval streets, you’ll appreciate having a guaranteed spot for your car.
The Space & Atmosphere
The property has this wonderful residential feel that sets it apart from your standard hotel experience. Everything feels thoughtfully curated rather than mass-produced — you’ll notice it in the way the spaces flow together and how the furnishings actually complement the historic architecture instead of fighting against it. The rooms manage to be both comfortable and authentically Florentine, which is honestly harder to pull off than you might think. There’s something about the way natural light filters through those windows that makes even ordinary moments feel a bit more special.
What Makes It Work
The real magic here is in the details that show someone actually cares about your experience. The location score of 9.8 isn’t just a number — it reflects how perfectly positioned you are to explore Florence on foot while still having a peaceful retreat to return to. I’ve stayed in places right in the centro storico that felt chaotic and touristy, but Sweetly Home in Florence strikes that perfect balance between accessibility and tranquility. The fact that it consistently earns such high ratings tells you that guests leave feeling like they discovered something genuinely special rather than just another place to sleep.
Why Guests Love It
What keeps people talking about this place long after they’ve returned home is how it makes Florence feel manageable and intimate. You’re not fighting crowds to get back to your room, but you’re also not stuck in some distant suburb wondering how to get anywhere interesting. The combination of that prime Santa Maria Novella location with the homey atmosphere creates exactly what most travelers are secretly hoping for — a base that enhances your Florence experience rather than just providing basic accommodation. Plus, when couples consistently rate your location nearly perfect, you know you’re doing something right in terms of creating memorable experiences.

Guest Reviews
Room was perfect. Comfortable bed, good pullout sofa for our 2 kids. Air Conditioning worked well on a very hot day.
What could be improved: Nothing
Claudia was so sweet to meet, and went through everything we'd need to know to check in and out. Additionally we got some good recommendations for stuff to do. Would book here again if I return in the near future!
What could be improved: Could maybe have the option for two sheets/duvets. This might be possible if you just request it, which we forgot to. Maybe more mirrors to get ready with, and something to sit on outside on that amazing balcony?
What could be improved: Slight smell when windows closed, but completely acceptable considering the historic building.
