Alinari Apartment
First Impressions
When I first walked up to Alinari Apartment on Largo Fratelli Alinari, I honestly wasn’t sure what to expect from a four-star apartment hotel. But you know what? The moment I stepped inside, it felt like I’d discovered one of those perfectly kept secrets that locals don’t want tourists to find. The building has this understated elegance — not flashy, but clearly well-maintained with that classic Florentine charm you can’t fake.
Location & Neighborhood
Here’s the thing about staying in Santa Maria Novella — you’re literally in the beating heart of Florence, and I mean that in the best possible way. From Alinari Apartment, I could walk to the Duomo in about eight minutes (I timed it), and the train station is practically around the corner if you need to catch a day trip to Siena or Pisa. What really impressed me was how quiet the street actually is, despite being so central. You get all the convenience without the constant noise of tour groups marching past your window at dawn.
The Space
The room I stayed in was more spacious than I expected — these aren’t your typical cramped European hotel quarters. The layout felt thoughtful, with enough storage space that I could actually unpack for a few days. I particularly appreciated the modern touches they’ve added while keeping some of the original architectural details. The bathroom was well-designed too, with good water pressure (trust me, this matters after a long day of museum hopping). The air conditioning worked perfectly, which was a relief during my July visit when Florence was basically an outdoor oven.
Practical Perks
What sets this place apart is how they’ve thought about what travelers actually need. The Wi-Fi was consistently strong throughout the building — I could video call home without any issues. There’s also a small kitchenette area that’s genuinely useful if you want to grab groceries from the nearby Mercato Centrale and have a quiet breakfast before hitting the tourist sites. The staff was helpful without being overly formal, and they gave me some solid recommendations for dinner spots that weren’t just the obvious tourist traps.
Why Guests Love It
I can see why couples rate this place so highly — there’s something romantic about having your own little Florentine hideaway rather than just another hotel room. The combination of privacy, location, and that residential feel makes it special. You’re staying in Florence, not just visiting it. Plus, at this price point and with this location score, you’re getting exceptional value. I mean, when you can walk to the Uffizi, grab morning coffee at a local bar, and still retreat to a peaceful space at the end of the day, that’s pretty much the perfect Florence experience right there.
Early hotels booking in Tuscany secures Vespa vineyard tours, private Uffizi guides, and sunset hot air balloons.

Guest Reviews
Daniella was very responsive to some of the concerns we raised.
Air conditioner worked great in both the rooms. There is an elevator we appreciated. House was clean.
Convenience store right below the apartment, so easy access to everything. But it also meant noise of delivery truck in morning for 1 bedroom that faced the street but kids were too tired to get bothered in our case.
Host Daniela was very accommodative, attended to all our needs.
Had everything we required like washing machine beverage making & cooking
Good size rooms separate bathrooms
