First Impressions

Walking up to Signoria Suite on Via dei Neri, you’d honestly never guess what awaits inside from the understated entrance. This four-star boutique property sits quietly on one of Florence’s most coveted streets, just steps from the Uffizi Gallery. The moment you step through the doors, though, you realize you’ve found something special — it’s that perfect blend of historic Florentine charm with modern comfort that’s surprisingly hard to come by in this city.

Location & Neighborhood

I mean, you really can’t get more central than this. Via dei Neri runs between the Duomo and the Arno River, putting you within a three-minute walk of the Uffizi and about five minutes from Ponte Vecchio. What I love about this street is that it’s actually where locals go for their morning coffee and evening aperitivo — you’ll find authentic trattorias and wine bars that haven’t been completely overrun by tourists. The Signoria Suite benefits from all this energy while remaining surprisingly quiet, especially in the evenings when the day-trippers head back to their hotels outside the center.

The Accommodations

The suites here are what really set this place apart from typical Florence hotels. Each one feels more like a carefully curated apartment than a hotel room, with original frescoed ceilings, antique furnishings, and modern amenities that actually work well together. The bathrooms are particularly impressive — marble everywhere, but not in that cold, sterile way. You know what surprised me most? The soundproofing is excellent, which is no small feat in a historic building on a busy street. The air conditioning works properly too, something you definitely can’t take for granted in Florence’s summer heat.

Daily Experience

There’s no traditional hotel breakfast room here, but honestly, that’s part of the charm. Instead, you get to experience Florence like a local — grab your morning cappuccino and cornetto at one of the nearby bars (I’d recommend Caffè degli Artigiani, just around the corner). The staff provides excellent recommendations and can arrange everything from museum tickets to dinner reservations. They’re the kind of people who remember your name and actually seem to care about making your stay memorable, not just efficient.

Why Guests Love It

Couples particularly rave about this place, and I can see why — there’s something inherently romantic about staying in a historic palazzo in the heart of Renaissance Florence. The combination of the prime location, intimate atmosphere, and personalized service creates an experience that feels exclusive without being pretentious. You’re literally living in the same neighborhood where Michelangelo once walked, but with all the comforts of contemporary hospitality. For travelers who want to feel like temporary Florentines rather than just tourists passing through, Signoria Suite delivers exactly that authentic experience.

The apartments are extremely comfortable, spacious and well equipped. The location is very convenient, as well. I very much appreciated the host's availability and flexibility. We all thought the photos did not do justice to the apartments, which are very new and tasteful and far exceeded our expectations.
