Rustico degli Ulivi
Seravezza, ItalyFirst Impressions
You know what hits you first at Rustico degli Ulivi? The name says it all — this place really is tucked among olive groves in the Tuscan countryside, and honestly, it feels like stumbling onto someone’s well-kept secret. The property sits in Vallecchia, which is one of those tiny Italian villages that doesn’t try too hard to impress tourists, and that’s exactly why it works so well. When I pulled up the winding road to get there, I actually wondered if my GPS had gotten confused, but then you see this beautifully restored farmhouse and realize you’ve found something special.
Location & Setting
Vallecchia isn’t going to show up on most travel itineraries, but that’s the whole point. You’re about a 20-minute drive from the coast — close enough to hit the beaches at Forte dei Marmi when you want that seaside buzz, but far enough inland to feel completely removed from the crowds. The surrounding countryside is proper Tuscany — rolling hills, cypress trees, and those endless olive groves that give the place its name. I mean, couples absolutely love it here (the 9.7 rating speaks for itself), and I can see why — there’s something inherently romantic about waking up to views of misty hills and ancient trees.
The Accommodation Experience
The rooms at Rustico degli Ulivi feel authentically Italian without being overly rustic — think exposed beams and terracotta floors, but with modern bathrooms and proper air conditioning. What I really appreciated was how quiet everything is; you’re surrounded by nature, so the only sounds are birds and maybe the distant hum of a tractor. The attention to detail is impressive too — fresh herbs from their garden, locally sourced breakfast ingredients, and that kind of personal touch you just don’t get at chain hotels. Each room has its own character, which means no two stays feel exactly the same.
Daily Life & Atmosphere
Mornings here are something else entirely. You’ll wake up to the smell of fresh coffee and homemade pastries, and breakfast is served on a terrace that overlooks the valley — honestly, it’s hard to rush through a meal with views like that. The owners clearly know their stuff when it comes to local recommendations; they pointed me toward a family-run winery about ten minutes away that I never would have found otherwise. Evenings tend to be peaceful affairs — you might spot other guests reading on the terrace or taking walks through the property, but there’s never that crowded resort feeling.
Why Guests Love It
Recent visitors consistently mention the location as a standout feature, and after staying here, I completely understand why. It’s that perfect balance of accessibility and seclusion — you can easily explore the Tuscan coast or venture into the hills for wine tasting, but you always have this peaceful retreat to return to. The personal service makes a real difference too; this isn’t a place where you’re just another room number. For couples especially, there’s something magical about having your own slice of the Tuscan countryside, complete with olive trees and that golden light that makes every sunset feel like a painting.
Savvy travelers reserve a hotel in Tuscany before olive harvests fill pressing rooms with aromatic queues.

Guest Reviews
Wer gerne selbst kocht, findet in der gut ausgestatteten Küche alles, was man braucht.
What could be improved: Der Urlaub was zu kurz : )
What could be improved: De zetel was wat klein .
Comfortable firm beds (I'd say ortho firm) and perfect for me!
Everyone is friendly and polite. All the drivers pass by smiling!
There is a local pizzeria that's 8 mins walk away serving amazing pizza and foccacce.
We will certainly return in the future.
Amazing host who clearly really cares for the property. Immaculately clean.
Thank you very much for a wonderful stay!
What could be improved: Nothing everything was perfect.
The home was very comfortable and was within a short driving distance to the supermarket, beach and the historic town of Lucca.
What could be improved: everything was perfect
